Check all respective line drain valves are shut. 4. Check all blanks are in place & all bolts are tight. 5. Check all elbows in place as reqd for line up. 6. Check all P/V are operational. 7. Duties of manifold in charge1. Check all valves on deck shut – manifold, pumpstack, drain.2. Check all blanks in place as reqd for line up.3. Check all respective line drain valves are shut.4. Check all blanks are in place & all bolts are tight.5. Check all elbows in place as reqd for line up.6. Check all P/V are operational.7. Ensure all tank openings are closed.8. Connect hoses.

Duties of safety & security incharge1. Fire wires – Fwd & Aft 2. Scuppers to plug3. Fire hoses 4. Extinguishers5. Fire plan 6. Gangway net.7. SMPEP gear in place 8. 1 no. torch at manifold9. 2 no.s w/talkies at the manifold 10. FW hose at manifold11. 3 no.s of Face visors & chem. gloves 12. Spanner set at manifold13. Maintain gangway watch 14. Regularly check moorings15. Check emergency eye wash & shower

Cadet additional duties 1. To ensure 1 –tourch,1-W/Talkie & 1 – adjustable wrench always standby with them.2. Deck air / Deck steam in adequate time for line blowing / steaming of tanks.

Pre arrival line up in chargeCadet + Pump man must check

If possible lines to be checked & kept ready one day prior arrival.1. Check all valves shut – manifold, drain and pumpstack.2. Check all blanks + bolts in place.3. Check all elbows in place as reqd for line up.4. Check all manifolds to be used for the port are drained & ready.5. Keep air hose/steam hose/fw hose ready.6. Keep all spanners ready at manifold.7. Ensure all butter worth pockets are closed.8. Ensure P/V valves are working.9. Check all lines to be used in port for leaks – if O.K test with air.10. Keep 3 no.s face visors & chem Gloves ready.11. Keep safety mat/drum below hose.12. Check all line drain valves shut.

Chief Officer will provide the duty officer with the following

informati on. 1. Make detailed cargo plan.2. Give specific instructions for ullages to topup.3. Specific ballasting/deballasting plan- for trim / list requirement.4. Hose connection with size etc.5. Any jumper hose connection etc.6. Sequence of loading/unloading for various parcels.7. Time/ullage at which to be called.8. Pre loading/unloading meeting with duty officer & watch person to give specific instruction or any change in plan.9. Give specific instruction for any extra precaution to be taken for hazardous, toxic, solidifying, polymerizing etc cargoes.

cargoes requiring N2 blanket etc.in order prepare things in advance.

Duty officer ’ s duties: 1. Ullages every hour.2. Fully understand the cargo plan,sequence of loading.3. Shore W/Talkie always with them.4. Instruct + assist crew with connection of hoses.5. Check specific line up to be used for loading/unloading.6. Line up for loading/unloading.7. Give 1 hour advance notice towatch keeper to call extra hands for station,hose connection/disconnection,hose shifting.8. To give E/R adequate notice for deck air/steam for line blowing,steaming tanks.
