Eastwood College – Kfarshima students joined our Choueifat center for four consecutive days Robotics Workshops where all the learners were introduced to the concept of Robotics; a Robotics club shall be launched at the school campus on January 2019, welcome aboard !

Rymco Automotive Workshop

TLE conducted many robotics workshops at RYMCO this month . The schools that visited the Automotive assembly line simulation are Manar International school and Chouf National College, the workshops were very successful. This allowed students to learn about the automotive industry, s and construct and program a robotic car. This RYMCO TLE workshop is a great activity for schools to be part of. At The Order Of Engineering & Architect

The Scientific and the Social Committee of the Order of Engineers in Tripoli held a Christmas event for the engineer's kids on December 23 in cooperation with The Little Engineer. The Little Engineer team of 24 between trainers and volunteers, moved with their kits, computers and materials to make 150 engineers’ kids profit from a day of robotics and programming

Children were divided in 3 age groups:4-6: built a simple machine7-9: had a solar energy workshop where they constructed a solar car 10 - 12: had a robotic workshop and accomplished a mission.13: plus: had an Arduino workshopCertificates and Educational gifts were distributed to all kids at the end of the ceremony.

In BekaaThe Little Engineer is finally landing in Bekaa,

NOEL avec ELLE Oriental

During the jolly season, The Little Engineer participated in the Elle Event to make a one time workshop targeting 9 years old kids at the Zero 4 - Naccache.

Kids were supposed to make certain Christmas models from Abilix and make a simple program. Students had much fun when they constructed a motorized Christmas tree and lighten it up.

Winter Camp At TLE Sodeco Center

The Little Engineer celebrated the festive season with its learners during a 5 day program. Winter camp program took place at Sodeco Square from 26 till 31 of December. Students aged 6 to 14 years old participated and were introduced to several activities concerning Robotics, Renewable Energy. Coding, 3D printing, Civil Engineering and much more that made this winter camp an added value to our little engineers

At Murex EventThe Little Engineer in collaboration with Murex organized a mini race workshop for kids aged 9+During this workshop, pupils were introduced to a certain type of robotics and programming.

They were asked to construct a car robot then program it with the help of our instructors in order to finish a certain mission by avoiding obstacles.

Trusted Ability WorkshopThe Little Engineer offered a workshop for special needs kids at The Trusted Ability center in Hazmieh.

7 kids benefited from a full 3 hours workshop about STEM technology. Everyone had fun and want to repeat that again.

Opportunities For Lebanon

The Little Engineer in China for innovative programs, technology and support for Lebanon. During the month of December, our CEO, Rana El Chemaitelly visited China to meet with the CEO of our partner, the manufacture of the Abilix the Educational robots to discuss opportunities for Lebanon.

She was invited as a guest speaker in the WER Competition, to talk about her programs and the curriculum she developed in Lebanon for the region. In recognition for the great work she did in 2018, Abilix CEO granted her the following so she can to payback for the community in Lebanon.

• 5 internships for university students in the R&D department in Shanghai office.

• Full sponsorship for 2 winners to participate in WER 2019

• Full sponsorship for a team (3 students- Girls) from Sonbola, NGO for Syrian refugees, to participate in WER 2019 competition

& AlManar Modern School At BDD

Manar Modern school students visited The Little Engineer at Beirut Digital District and enjoyed an Arduino workshop where they were first introduced to electronics and how to connect a small electronic circuit, then they learned how to program the arduino board in order to control the assembled circuit, also the students where informed on different types of arduino boards and where and how to use them.

In New JerseyThe Little Engineer in New Jersey- Dec 11 to Dec 16

TLE developed a STEM course for New Jersey – USA, called “Sustainable New jersey”. The course talks about Renewable Energy and was made to meet their learning standards. TLE made it tailored to the problems of the city, and for specific schools. Our team travelled to the states where they trained the teachers and prepared a workshop for the students. We provided them with the kits, the manuals for teachers and for students, the materials and the map for the robots. The echoes were excellent; concerned people were very excited about the project, and very happy with the outcome.

Airbus Little Engineer A380

Airbus Foundation together with The Little Engineer team partnered with Air Senegal, the national carrier of Senegal to deliver the A380 workshops for 300+ students during 2019. The Little Engineer team headed to Senegal and trained 4 volunteers from Air Senegal and 4 teachers from "Institution Sainte Jeanne D'arc" on the workshop in order to kick off the project at the school to deliver the workshop for its students, and after that to bring among students from many other schools.

By the end of the training, the volunteers and the teachers delivered the workshop to 30 students as a pilot. The students showed huge interest in the aviation industry, and loved the idea of the workshop. .

Until now the Airbus Little Engineer workshops were delivered to more than 6000 students from all over the world. And the upcoming plans are to kick off the same project in Botswana, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ruwanda.

What's NewSelf-driving, burrito-carrying rovers are going to talk to us with their eyes

If autonomous rovers are going to start bringing us burritos and pasta and maybe even the occasional vegetable dish—as delivery company Postmates hopes that they will—they’re going to have to learn some social skills.

For one, they’ll need to figure out how to make their way down crowded sidewalks. They’ll also have to communicate with people to let them know what they’re doing, since autonomous bots, and self-driving cars, can’t talk or gesture the way humans do.

The latest droid built for lugging takeout is a servile bot called Serve, and Postmates designed it to make short-haul deliveries in cities. To know what’s going on, it has a lidar sensor on top, in which spinning lasers let it perceive objects around it and know how far away they are. (It’s similar to what you’ll find guiding self-driving cars on the roads.) That’s not all. Behind each artificial eye is a camera, with six more imaging devices spread around the ‘bot. In its cargo bin is another sensor that allows Postmates to know if there is a package in there or not.This robot, and others like it, also must be able to signal their intentions to the organic beings walking alongside them (just like self-driving cars sometimes do). For that, it has a number of approaches. One is using its eyes, and another is a colorful light ring that goes around the top.Postmates says they plan to use Serve in Los Angeles area at first, and that its intended chore is to “move small objects over short distances efficiently.” The electric rover can travel 30 miles on one charge and is capable of schlepping 50 pounds, they say.
