December Homework- Week 1 Math Common Core Standards: K.CC.A.1 - Count to 100 by ones and by tens. K.CC.A.2 - Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1). K.CC.B.4.A - When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object. K.CC.B.4.B - Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted. K.CC.B.4.C - Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger. K.MD.B.3 - Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count. K.OA.A.1 - Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings1, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations. December Homework- Week 1

week. They will check a box as they complete each activity. When they are finished, both the parent and child will write their name on this cover page.

Pages 4-6: Math Homework Pages 7-9: Literacy Homework

Preparing Homework Packet:

• Print pages 3-9. o These pages make 1 homework packet.

• Copy these pages to make a homework packet for each student in your class. • Place the cover sheet on the top of each homework packet. • Place the homework packet in your students homework folder or envelope.

Dear Parents, We are working hard and learning so much! Thank you for your constant support in your

child’s growth in learning!

Math Homework:

! Gingerbread Man Addition: Students will practice addition by making dots to help them determine the sum.

! All About 10’s: Students will order numbers counting by 10-50. They will practice writing by 10’s to 50 and they will color or circle a group of 10. (This is a cut and glue activity)

! What Number Comes Before and After?: Students will look at the number given and write the number that comes before and after it.

Reading & Writing Homework:

! Searching for Sight Words: Students will find different sight words in a word search!

! Gingerbread Beginning Sound Sort : Students will sort pictures by the beginning sounds.

! F irst and Last Missing Letters: Students will say the picture and write the first and last letters of the word.

All of these activities are included with detailed directions on how to do each activity. Please return the completed homework on Friday . Thank you again!
