Melissa High School’s Gunnar Murphy selected to play in Blue-Grey All-American Bowl
Melissa High School Cardinal football player Gunnar Murphy has been selected to play as linebacker on the West squad in the 2016 Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at AT&T Stadium on Dec. 22 at noon.
The Blue-Grey All-American Bowl features top senior recruits and highly rated prospects representing 39 Eastern and Western states, and the coaching staff consists of former NFL players. Murphy was one of 90 recruits selected from over 6,750 qualified players.
Student at Melissa Ridge Intermediate designs child safety invention for cars
Bishop Curry, a 5th grader at Melissa Ridge Intermediate, is developing a child safety invention that he designed to help prevent hot car deaths.
After hearing about hot car deaths, Curry was inspired to come up with a solution. His original design mimicked the likes of a car seat with fans on it. The design eventually transformed into a device that could attach to a car seat and a car’s air conditioning vent, and then send out an alert to parents if a child is left alone.
