BISHOP RYAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL NEWS

TWICE BLESSED UPDATE!

Your generosity has put us past the quarter-mark on the way to our goal of raising $5,000 and earning a $5,000 match from the St. Joseph’s Com-munity Health Foundation’s TWICE BLESSED campaign! Through the end of December, every dollar donated to Bishop Ryan at twicebless-ednd.com or sjchfnd.com/organizations/bishop-ryan will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000. All TWICE BLESSED proceeds will help with the instruments, music and instruction for our free After-School Strings Academy program for Bishop Ryan 3rd-8th graders who are interested in learning violin, viola or cello. Thank you, in advance, for helping to sur-round our students in beautiful music!

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING?

Use Scrip gift cards to pay for your purchases or to give as gifts. There’s a large selection of local businesses who participate in the Scrip program, along with many nationwide. (There’s a national list on our website www.bishopryan.com) Support these business with your shopping & paying with gift cards and they in turn, support Bishop Ryan & families with the rebates earned off of the cards. Using gift cards instead of cred-it cards protects you from credit card fraud. Scrip doesn’t cost any extra money, you get to spend the dollar amount you pay for. Using Scrip helps children receive a Catholic education. Scrip gift cards are available at Bishop Ryan, after the weekend Masses & in the parish office during the week.

LOT-O-DOUGH CALENDARS

are available for purchase for $25. There’s over 300 chances to win mon-ey. Daily drawings are held at Bishop Ryan from January thru June. These make excellent Christmas gifts! Calendars are available after the week-end Masses, in the parish offices, and at the Bishop Ryan business office.

BUSINESS OWNERS & MANAGERS:

Gift cards make the perfect Christmas gift for your employees. Purchase your cards through the Bishop Ryan Scrip Program. There’s about 90 lo-cal businesses who participate in the Scrip Program. There is a national list on our website www.bishopryan.com that has many more to choose from nationwide. Order your cards early at Bishop Ryan (special orders must be prepaid). Orders are placed early Monday mornings and are re-ceived on Wednesdays. For more information call Elaine at 838-3355.

The Religious Education Pro-gram is in need of a 5th grade teacher’s assistant and volun-teers for Eucharistic Adoration from 7 – 8 p.m. some Wednes-day’s at BRCS (see Adoration schedule for dates).

2019 Altar Server Sign Up Are your children in 4th grade or older? Have they received First Holy Communion? St. Leo’s needs more altar servers. Please encourage your children to sign up. Please contact Beverly at 701-838-1026 or [email protected] and we can get them on our schedule. Training will take place in December.

“In the liturgy, you are much more than simple "helpers of the parish priest." Above all,

you are servers of Jesus Christ, of the eternal High Priest.

Thus, you, altar servers, are called in particular to be young friends of Jesus. Be determined

to go deeper and to cultivate this friendship with him.

You will discover that in Jesus you have found a true friend for

life.” St. John Paul ll

TIME—TALENT—TREASURE Have you considered signing up for par-

ish ministry in 2019? We always are in

need of Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers,

Sacristans and Readers.

We know how busy people’s lives can

get, that’s why this year we want to as-

sign at least 3 readers for every Mass,

4 Ushers and 2 Sacristans. These roles

may not seem vital to the parishioner,

but they are vital to the Mass. Please

consider signing up to be involved in

Parish Ministry. It is better to have too

many people signed up than not

enough.

There are forms in the pew, to only fill

out if you’re joining our weekend minis-

try, or if you’d like to change the date or

time of your current ministry slot.

You can also sign up online at stleos-

minot.org or on our app “St. Leo The

Great” in the Apple, and Android app

stores.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT “And then they will see the Son of

Man coming in a cloud with power

and great glory,” says today’s

Gospel. Good stewards know that

they are accountable to God for all

that they have and are and strive to

live in readiness for His coming.

Stewardship Thought: Your

church and community offer many

opportunities for using your time

and talent in God’s service.

EVENING HOLY HOUR Monday -Friday @ 5

Don’t forget to join us for the

Rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mer-

cy, Monday– Friday at 5PM. Holy

hour will continue until Decem-

ber 21st.

SUPPORT THE RETIRE-

MENT FUND FOR RELI-

GIOUS. A donor writes, “Your flyer touched my heart—seeing the retired religious, such memories surfaced.” Do you remember the sisters, brothers, or religious or-der priests who made a positive difference in your life? Today many are elderly and need assis-tance. Their religious communi-ties struggle to meet retirement needs while continuing to serve the People of God. Please give to next week’s second collection. St. Leo’s, along with every parish in the Diocese, will take up a sec-ond collection on December 8th and 9th to support the Retire-ment fund for Religious– for more information go to retire-dreligious.com
