Welcome
UBC exists because God, in his infinite love, sent his Son Jesus Christ to live and die in the place of sinners. On the third day Jesus rose bodily from the grave, once and for all victorious over sin and death. Now, through Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, God is reconciling this broken world to himself. We gather in that great hope. We pray it’s your hope as well, and that you’re encouraged during your time with us.
Note on Children
Parents, we encourage having children in the service, but if they do get restless, televisions throughout the foyer carry a live stream of our service. You can also find activity bags and a service sheet to help them follow along at ConnectingPoint. A room for nursing mothers is located on the 4th floor of the Main Hall. This room is available at all times and includes a live stream of our service as well. We also offer childcare during the main service for all nursery through preschool-aged children.
Church Membership
For those interested in membership at UBC, we regularly offer a Discovery Class. In this class, you’ll learn what the Bible says about church membership, what we believe as a church, and how we seek to live out the commands of God’s Word. The next class will be Sunday, January 12. You can sign up on our website.

Call to Worship | Psalm 72:8-11 All Scripture readings are taken from the English Standard Version.
May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth! May desert tribes bow before him, and his enemies lick the dust! May the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands render him tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts! May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him!

From the squalor of a borrowed stable By the Spirit and a virgin's faith
To the anguish and the shame of scandal Came the Savior of the human race
But the skies were filled With the praise of heav'n
Shepherds listen as the angels tell Of the gift of God come down to man
At the dawning of Immanuel
King of heaven now the friend of sinners Humble servant in the Father's hands Filled with power and the Holy Spirit Filled with mercy for the broken man
Yes He walked my road and He felt my pain Joys and sorrows that I know so well
Yet His righteous steps give me hope again I will follow my Immanuel
Through the kisses of a friend's betrayal He was lifted on a cruel cross
He was punished for a world's transgressions He was suffering to save the lost
He fights for breath He fights for me Loosing sinners from the claims of hell
And with a shout our souls are free Death defeated by Immanuel
Now He's standing in the place of honor Crowned with glory on the highest throne
Interceding for His own beloved 'Til His Father calls to bring them home
Then the skies will part as the trumpet sounds Hope of heaven or the fear of hell
But the bride will run to her Lover's arms Giving glory to Immanuel

Scripture Reading | Revelation 5 All Scripture readings are taken from the English Standard Version.
Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written
within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel
proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its
seals?” And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open
the scroll or to look into it, and I began to weep loudly because no one was
found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. And one of the elders said to
me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” And between
the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb
standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes,
which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he went and
took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. And
when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four
elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of
incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every
tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom
and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I
heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of
many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying
with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and
wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” And I
heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea,
and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” And the four
living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do) Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark Won't stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)
Is all creation groaning? (It is) Is a new creation coming? (It is) Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this? He is
Does the Father truly love us? (He does) Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah hold forever those He loves? (He does) Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From ev'ry people and tribe, ev'ry nation and tongue He has made us a kingdom
And priests to God to reign with the Son Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory? Is He worthy of this?
He is, He is
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? He is, He is
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? He is
