In Search of Young Adults!
SPIRITUS is seeking Catholic young adults, 21-29 years of age, to join the SPIRITUS missionary team this August. SPIRITUS ignites the faith in thousands of young Catholics through retreats
and parish youth ministry each year! Missionaries live in community and travel to parishes and schools through-out Wisconsin; they receive training, formation, spiritual direction, lodging, food, a monthly allowance, health insurance and a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the 9-month program. It is a unique opportunity to serve our Lord and help young Catholics grow in faith. Visit www.spiritusministries.org, contact Rachel at [email protected], or (920) 722-8918 x113 for more information.
Just a reminder: If you want credit for 2019 please have your contributions into the parish no later than December 31, 2019. According to the IRS regulations, any contributions received after Dec 31 must be applied to your 2020 contributions.

NEW YEAR OF 2020
I. The Nail - As the story goes, they built a new church building and people came from far and near to see it. They admired its beauty. - Up on the roof, a little nail heard the people praising everything about the lovely structure except the nail. - No one even knew he was there and he became angry and jealous. - “If I am that insignificant, nobody will miss me if I quit!” So the nail then released its hold, slid down the roof and fell in the mud. - That night it rained and rained. Soon the shingle that had no nail blew away and the roof began to leak. The water streaked the walls and the beautiful murals. The plaster began to fall, the carpet was stained and the pulpit Bible was ruined by water. - All because a little nail decided to quit. BUT WHAT OF THE NAIL? While holding the shingle, it was obscure but, it was also useful. Pounded in the mud it was just as obscure but, now it was useless and would soon be eaten up by rust. - What moral – EVERY MEMBER is important to the Church! You may, like the nail, feel obscure at times but, just like the nail your absence is ALWAYS FELT. - When you are not present for Mass/worship in some way we, the Body of Christ hurt. - This is 2020: Pray God to join the Body of Christ for our weekly Eucharistic Sacrifice (Mass).
II. Fr. Gus’ 25th Anniversary celebration in Ghana – will be streamed live on January 5, 2020. Ghana time: Ceremonies at 7:30 am with Mass to follow. III. May the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph pray for us in the New Year of 2020 and our families.
HAPPY and BLESSED NEW YEAR TO YOU and ALL YOUR FAMILIES!
Fr. Gus’ Corner As 2019 comes to an end, Catholic Charities still needs your financial support. Won't you consider making a donation to
help your neighbors in need?
In this giving season, please take a moment to thank God for everything He has given you out of His infinite Love. I'm certain that by opening our eyes and hearts we will see Christ in our brothers and sisters that need our help and offer our gifts to Christ who lives in them.
Our Mission at Catholic Charities is to help those in need, and we depend on your generous donation to carry forward "Christ's Gospel of Life and promote human dignity by allevi-ating poverty and strengthening individuals and families."
So far this year, with your support, Catholic Charities has final-ized 52 adoptions, offered a warm place to stay to over 1100 homeless individuals, and provided almost $420,000 in finan-cial assistance with basic human needs across our diocese. We continue to offer help with pregnancy support, post adoption resources, and disaster recovery. We are here to serve!
Won't you please support us! Visit give online at cclse.org or call 888-212-4357 to make an end of the year, tax-deductible donation. Donations can also be mailed directly to Catholic Charities, P.O. Box 266, La Crosse, WI 54602-0266.
All of us who work at Catholic Charities wish you a Merry Christmas, and we sincerely thank you for your generosity and support of our Mission.
