For over 125 years the Kaiapoi Brass Band has been bringing music toKaiapoi folk. Losing their band room in Raven Street Kaiapoi in theSeptember 2010 earthquake was a big set back but resourceful membershave found a new property in Stone Street Kaiapoi and the band hasresumed competing in the Provincial Championships and is ready forplayouts this Christmas. They have a full programme of carols in bothtraditional and modern arrangements which they will be bringing toresidents over the festive season – see box below for dates and times.For anyone, young or not so young, who might like to learn to play a brassinstrument, you are welcome to get in touch. The band offers free tuition,instruments and good playout opportunities.
