I was offered a role at IGPC Ethanol in Aylmer and after careful consideration, I have decided to accept this new challenge. When I started as GM in June of 2012, the Center had 65 robots and a staff of 13. We are currently tracking to have over 240 robots installed by the end of 2018 and we now have a staff of 18. Along with this growth, there have been new products such as the Vector, Collector and the A5 which were introduced and validated in the Woodstock area. Every year has seen the Lely family of customers grow and with this growth, the opportunity to serve new customers. It has been a pleasure to work with all of you and it is satisfying to leave you with a tremendously talented staff at the Center! I have been working with Niels Zoetelief from our head office in Holland to begin the recruiting process and our goal is to find a qualified replacement as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. There is a detailed plan being worked out to ensure that it will be ‘business as usual’ for our customers. I grew up in Alma, where my passion for dairy farming began eight years ago. The family I did relief milking for installed a robot, and this is when I first recognized the benefits of robotic milking and improvements with production and cow comfort. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus with a diploma in Agriculture, focusing on courses in dairy production. I continued my education at Olds College in Alberta, achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business. My final year of school provided me with an opportunity to work as an Assistant Herd Manager on a progressive dairy farm. I look forward to meeting you and am eager to assist you in optimizing and improving results in all aspects of your dairy operation! Allison will be doing Level 1 FMS Training this July. She is also shadowing Robyn Walsh and Sam Overgaauw from Grand River Robotics and working closely with Jake Bentum and Wally Matheson for on farm training. Meet Remco Scheele

Lely Center Woodstock ispleased to introduceRemco Scheele. He has joined the Service Team asa SL1 Technician. If you see him at your farmplease feel free to welcome him.

Meet William Deenik

It’s been three years sinceWilliam first started helping usout with barn drawings and lending his computer expertise to help resolve problems around the LCW office. Many new customers will have seen his name in the corner of the AutoCad designs and some of you may have had a Teamviewer visit to help resolve a T4C issue. So, we thought perhaps it’s time to share some of his background. William has a B.Sc.Agr. from Guelph and has managed his own dairy farm in Northern Ontario. Following his passion for technology, he completed a diploma in Instrumentation and Computer Control and has a variety of certificates for various operational aspects of servers and Operating Systems. He does most of his work remotely from his home office an hour away, but comes to the office a few times a month to work as well. We have been keeping him very busy lately with all of the sold projects here in Woodstock!

John McKay- SL2 TechnicianMQCC2

Summer is almost here and with the warmer weather, there often comes problems. The MQCC2 is Lely’s version of a somatic tester. To keep it running smoothly here are some key things to examine, when mixing up a new batch of Astri-Cell, make sure to wash out the containers, including the MQCC2 container. We technicians often find build up in these containers of straw, sawdust, and other foreign objects. These objects can block the waste trap and stop the MQCC2 from working. It is very important to test the MQCC2 to make sure it is running properly, this can be done at the robot by going to Test>Testmenu>Accesso-ries>MQCC2>TestRoutines. There are three tests in this menu. First test is the “Prime Reagent,” wait until it fails or succeeds before going to the next test, (this applies to all tests). If it succeeds, the next test is “SCC Measurement,” for this test to be completed, it is absolutely essential to milk a cow first as it is testing the little bit of milk in the line. However, this will NOT work if it just did a cluster clean or local rinse. The last test is the “Reagent Measurement,” which measures the ratio of the water to Astri-Cell mix. 1 litre of Astri cell (A Bottle of Astri-Cell) is to be mixed with 15 litres of water. If any of these tests fail for any reason, try again and if it doesn’t work contact Lely Center Woodstock and we would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. Thank you for your time! Have a great safe Lely summer.
