Editor's Boogie201 4 has been a tumultuous year! And yet another great one for thelocal music scene.We’ve seen the introduction of Autumn Sounds, which is returningin 201 5. The Lighthouse Festival has continued to grow in 201 4,and is set to be bigger and better again next year. The Afloatfestivals throughout the region brought music, dance, art and moretogether al l around the region. Bundaberg Rum are having a crackat a mini festival in l ine with their MDC releases. The Local MusicAwards have risen to acknowledge the work our local musos do,and wil l be back for 201 5. And week to week we see great local andvisiting acts at more and more venues.

We’ve been visited by Wolfmother, Sheppard, John Wil l iamson,Paul Kelly, Amber Lawrence, Brian Cadd, The Viper Creek Band,Jared Porter, The Cat Empire, Cheap Fakes, I l ly, Busby Marou andmany more – Bundy is becoming a place to tour through. By gettingout and supporting these shows, it can only get better! (Not thatthese artists are anything to sneeze at). 201 5 is looking to be evenbigger!

I would l ike to take this chance to thank each and every one of youthat read the magazine, or l ike us on facebook – you are the reasonwe do what we do. And also thanks for supporting the local musicscene, and in turn supporting Bundaberg in general. You would besurprised how much our economy appreciates the simple act ofgoing to a venue, buying a drink and listening to a band.

I also have some personal thanks to put out there. These peopleare a seemingly never ending well of support, and help outwhenever they can across many aspects, and without them wecouldn’t possibly keep up (though many of them may not evenrealise that). Firstly, Matt Farthing – a man who never stops, andhas gone well out of his way many, many times over to help out notonly Bundaberg Live! , but many venues when they’re caught shortof equipment or even an act. He shows great support for up andcoming kids and adults al ike, and his work with the Railway JamSessions (along with many others) is greatly appreciated. Also avery special thanks to Peter ‘Wiz’ Knight, not only for taking thereins on the Bundaberg Live! radio spots on Friday mornings, butfor al l the background support, kind wordsIand listening to mewhen it’s needed (or I need to get something off my chest). Thesupport of these people is also above and beyond, and in manydifferent ways: Sandy McQualter-Walsh (my long suffering betterhalf), Bailey and Jade (my kids who back me in al l I do), TrishMears, Tracey Sergiacomi, Bil ly Healy, Simone Bayley and theentire crew of Bundaberg Broadcasters, Trish Knight fromEverything But The Bike, Greg Baxter from Bout Time Music, DaneCostigan, Brett Finger, Brett Green, Simon Thompson and his crew(The Club Hotel), Tony Peel, Jay Furnish, Patricia JongedykIandthere wil l be more that I missed – my thanks sti l l go to al l of you.
