A lmost every time God wants to do some-thing He foretells about His work through

prophets. The same was the case in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem during the time of Ezra and king Cyrus. At the appointed time “the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus” (Ezra 1:1) to obey Him and re-spond according to the prophecies of old. His Word was in the process of being carried out. When God wants to rebuild a nation He sends prophets, stirs up kings and people and finally calls someone to go start the sometimes-lengthy task of rebuilding.

As we remember Christmas, we remember the prophecies of old, the people whose hearts the Lord stirred up, those who were obedient, and finally the Christ Jesus that came to be born, live, die and be risen. Almost every work of God starts with a proph-ecy, a word from the Lord. The same is true about the work God did in the recent centuries. God sent prophets, and then at the appointed time He sent the Holy Spirit. Then the disciples were sent with the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Today His work is done in the same manner.

In a literal sense, God one day stirred up my spirit and in response to His call we went to build His king-dom. Our obedience took us to the country of Ro-mania where we began many new ventures by faith: from Christian radio stations, and orphan minis-tries, to starting new churches amongst one of the most despised people groups on earth, the Gypsies.

Please continue your faithfulness to the One that called you to this great work and don’t let your hands grow weary. Keep up the good fight of faith in our generation to bring the Gospel to the nations and to disciple them.

We wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely yours,

Cornel & Karen Bucur

As I look back, God’s work with us started the same way: a word from the Lord from the Book of Psalms, “A posterity shall serve Him. It will be re-counted of the Lord to the next generation, they will come and declare His righ-teousness to a people who will be born, that He has done this” (Ps. 22:30-31, NKJV), a stirring of the heart, then obedience and finally going.

As the year draws to an end and we remember our journey of faith, we want to thank you who just like in the old days of Ezra and Cyrus came alongside us with prayer and financial support to make our journey, our staying, and His work possible. We cannot relive and be part of the days when the Temple was built in Jerusalem, but we can be part of the mod-ern-day building of His kingdom in the hearts of His people, the Church, in our days.
