Living the Paschal Mystery:
Christmas—the mystery of Emmanuel, “God
is with us”—Can’t be simply a day or a season on
our calendars. It is the eternal mystery of making
incarnated through the goodness of our own lives
the God who loves us and saves us. Emmanuel is
given birth through our being obedient to God’s
will and encountering the Presence of this Savior
all year long. Each of us is God’s betrothed over-
shadowed with grace of the Holy Spirit. Each of
us carries within ourselves this “God is with us”
who is Savior. Each of us has the capacity to em-
brace divine indwelling and to make that Pres-
ence known to all the world.

Knight of Columbus: The Council delivered two cases of new coats
to Catholic Charities as part of our Coats for
Kids program. These coats have been distributed to
children of Lompoc in need. We also provided a pick-
up load of outerwear of all sizes that will provide some
protection from winter’s chill. We thank all brothers,
families, and neighbors who generously donated to
bring this Year of Mercy to a memorable conclusion.
Did you know? Set guidelines for holiday visits to ensure your child’s safety Your holiday plans may include spending a few nights at a
family member or friend’s house, possibly with all the kids
piling into a few rooms to sleep. Before you go, remind your
kids about their body boundaries and what to do if someone
violates those limits. Explain which areas are okay for others
to touch and what areas are off limits. Inform the child that
any areas that would be covered by underwear or swimsuits
are off limits. For more information on helping a child estab-
lish boundaries, a copy of the VIRTUS® article “Teaching
Boundaries,” email [email protected] or call 213-

¿Sabia Usted?
