Religious education classes will resume on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Children’s Church, during the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass, will take a short break from December 24 until January 7. Our prayer for the entire St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church and School Family is that the Christ Child, the Hope of our world, will bless us all with peace and joy at Christmas time and throughout the New Year. The PREP Staff is extremely grateful to the many volunteers who make this Program possible and to the parents who join us in enriching the faith of their children. We also want to take this opportunity to thank our PREP families for their generosity with our Giving Tree and other projects throughout the seasons of Advent and Christmas. Last but not least, we thank Fr. Dan and Fr. Roy for their continued guidance and support. God bless you all. SMLS and PREP students actively participate in the Mass, including acting out the Gospel. The Children’s Choir will also sing.

The Saint Mary of the Lakes
Carnival will be taking place June
25-30, 2018. The volunteer needs
for this are great, beyond great,
they are astronomical. In the end,
we will need roughly 800 volunteers. Right now
it begins with the committees who will be doing
the work leading up to the actual carnival. Please
give serious consideration to helping with this
very important fund raising effort for the school.
The Carnival Committee is looking for volunteers
to chair the following committees this week:
Entertainment, Game Booths, RafRe(50/50),
Physical Plant/Site Management, Sponsorship. If
anyone would like to volunteer to head one of
these committees or would like to Bnd out more

ICNU MomentsICNU MomentsICNU MomentsICNU Moments
Good disciples are always looking for ICNU (I see in you) moments, “I see in you” a need for Jesus! If you are having a conversation over the back fence, and your neighbor shares a grief or hardship, that’s an ICNU moment to say, “If I were facing that difBculty, I would Bnd strength in Jesus . . . and Bnd Him at St. Mary of the Lakes.” And see where that leads. It may go nowhere, but if it were to go somewhere . . . a nice follow up might be, “Why don’t you come to Mass with me next Sunday?”
If saying something similar would be pushing “your” envelope, then an easier approach might be to spread the word regarding three “Mass Mobs” that will be offered at St. Mary of the Lakes. You may remember the “Mass Mob” that was offered on Sunday, 9/11/16 at 6:00 p.m., the Bfteenth anniversary of that tragedy. A social media blitz on our website, Facebook, Twitter, yada yada yada provided many an opportunity to invite someone to Mass. The 6:00 p.m. Mass is usually a little over half full, but the Church was full for that Mass!
Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:Three Mass Mob Masses will be offered on:
Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. with the Adult Choir
Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (Children’s Mass)
Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with Redemption, our contemporary music group.
Before and after each Mass, confessions will be heard by Father Dan and Father Roy. Name tags will be provided
and congregants will be encouraged to introduce themselves to each other at the beginning of Mass. A ministry minute will be provided after announcements and hospitality will be offered in the Emmaus Center after Mass.
Although Mass attendance at St. Mary of the Lakes has been on the increase for the last three years, there is still roughly 75 percent of registered parishioners who do not attend Mass weekly, so the harvest is abundant for ICNU moments.
More information will follow regarding Mass Mobs, but in the meantime, be on the lookout for ICNU moments.
