Benediction at 7:00 PM
During the four weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Savior, and anticipate His promised Second Coming. And amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, we are challenged to look for
practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives. Try to find some quiet time for prayer and reflection on the gifts we have received, and how we are called to share them with others.

GIVING TREE
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all those who participated in the Giving Tree project. Every year we search for words that might adequately describe the outpouring of generosity that we are privileged to witness at Christmastime! What on earth could generate such unreserved charity, such love of neighbor? There is only one Source of Love, one Fount of Goodness. May the Christ Child bless you and your families for your many kindnesses done in His name for families in need.
BIBLE STUDY
Join the Tuesday Morning Bible Study for Bishop Robert Barron’s newest study. Experience how the New Testament opens up once we see it through the person of David. David’s kingship recalls that of Adam in the Garden of Eden, and also foreshadows that of Jesus, The King of kings. The 8 week program will begin on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 9:00 AM in the Maximilian Room in the rectory. Cost for the program is $25. Contact the rectory for registration; the deadline for registration is December 29. For more information contact Judy Armour at 610-793-2596.
BIBLE STUDY
Join the Monday night Bible Study beginning January 8 at 7pm in the Kolbe Room as we study the Gospel of John. “Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John” is your guide to a personal encounter with Christ. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus seeks after us. He comes to meet us and beckons us to follow Him. “Follow Me” invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. To register, please contact the rectory. For more information contact Lidia M a n i e r i a t ( 6 1 0 ) 3 5 0 - 7 2 3 2 o r [email protected]. Cost of the materials is $20 and checks should be made out to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. Registration deadline is December 27.

St. Max School Makes Some Joyful Noise
The St. Maximilian Kolbe School students have been busy sharing their talents with the community and celebrating the Christmas season.
Thursday, December 7th, our piano students performed in their evening piano recital. Students take lessons under the guidance of Mrs. Emma Nusinzon of the Children’s Piano Institute. The Institute brought in a baby grand piano, situated on our decorated stage for a very festive and enjoyable evening.
Thursday December 14th is our Band and Choir Concert. The band students, taught by Mr. Larry Davidson and the choir, taught by Mrs. Sara Dempsey, have been practicing weekly and are ready to share their musical gifts. This should be a special evening.
Friday December 15th is our PreK and Kindergarten Christmas Show at 9:00 am. The PreK 3 class, PreK 4 class and the Kindergarten join together for a delightful sharing of the Christmas spirit. Mrs. Dempsey, Ms. Barbella, Mrs. Jaskot and Ms. McAllister have helped prepare the students for their performance.
Wednesday December 20th, our school will perform an original Christmas story, Christmas: Faith and Family. The eighth grade students perform the play, while the first through eighth grade students take turns on stage to sing songs specially chosen to fit into the story line. This show, put together by Mrs. Pat Frantz and Mrs. Sara Dempsey is the school students’ way of saying ‘Thank You’ and ‘Merry Christmas’ to their parents. All are welcome to enjoy this free and festive evening in the school gym.

ADVENT REFLECTION WEEK 3 WE ARE HOPEFUL IN OUR WAITING
Wow! How quickly the Advent Season is going by! As we continue to make our preparations for the Christmas Season, we also continue to prepare our hearts as we wait for the coming of Jesus. The Third Sunday of Advent is traditionally known as Gaudete Sunday. Our antiphon for today: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice!” captures the mood of today's liturgy. As we move into the second part of Advent we wait hopefully in a sense of joyful expectation; in an awareness that the fulfillment of God’s great plan for us is near. Something to ponder… Today at Mass we sang a hymn called “The Whole World Is Waiting For Love,” each verse discusses how we are waiting and making our preparations for the coming of Jesus. What are you doing to make your heart and home lovely for Jesus?

2019 MASS INTENTION BOOK
The book for 2019 Mass intentions is now open. All dates will be given on a first come, first served basis. All arrangements for Masses can be made in the Rectory Office.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
We are now fully immersed into the Advent season and Christmas is fast approaching. What a wonderful time to step back from our busy lives and come visit Jesus. We have a great opportunity every Tuesday all year round to stop in and spend some quiet time with Him during Eucharistic Adoration. We have a wonderful group of people who have each committed to be there for a particular hour between 9 am and 7 pm so Jesus is never left alone. Many others are able to come in for briefer visits. Please feel free to join us as your schedule allows.
"Help us, Jesus, to understand that in order “to do” in Your Church we must first learn “to be,” that is, to stay with You, in Your sweet company in Adoration.”—St. John Paul II
ST. MAX RELIGIOUS GOODS SHOP We invite you to come in, browse, and see our selection of Advent and seasonal items, including beautiful Christmas cards and note cards. Supplies are limited so we suggest you stop in sooner rather than later. Shop is open Sunday morning 10:00 - 12 noon
We welcome the newest members of St. Maximilian Kolbe
who were recently baptized. May God bless them and their families.
