Christmas Pot Luck Dinner & Sing Along

Our Annual Christmas Sing-Along & Pot Luck Dinner last weekend was a fun night filled with good food, song and fel-lowship. Many thanks to all who participated. (more pic-tures can be found on our website)

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Last Sunday at the 10:30 AM Mass we blessed shawls and blankets.

Thank you to the members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry

who lovingly made these items to comfort those in need and newborns.

An Acknowledgement of Appreciation

To Sister Christina Chong, S.D.B, for sharing with the community the loving contributions of the

Religious and their needs for prayers and financial assistance as they age.

To all who gave so eagerly and generously to satisfy the Christmas wishes on the Giving Tree.

To the four parishioners who reached out to Fr. Tim and Fr. Michal to check on their welfare and open

their homes during the power outage.

WISDOM FROM A SAGE

We are surrounded by information but are strangers to Wisdom

Wisdom are addicted to politics but indifferent to principle

We are driven by acquisition but contemptuous of sacrifice

We are fascinated by self-analysis, but numb to the needs of others.

We are pre-occupied with our bodies but careless with our souls.

We are attentive to gossip but deaf to the Word.

We love to talk religion but are fearful of sharing our faith.

For anyone seeking

Baptism • First Eucharist • Confirmation

Next meeting, December 17th 7:00 PM in the Chapel Penance & the Anointing of the Sick:

God’s Mercy Revealed

Please pray for all those who have decided to follow the journey of our faith.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS NEWS

The Don Bosco Council of the Knights of Columbus invite all members of the parish and their families to join them in praying the rosary on December 29,

2019 after the 9 AM Mass for the intention of the parish as part of the Knights Family.

The Candle of Joy Color: Rose

This third candle is rose, symbolizing anticipation and rejoicing.

During the third week of Advent, we are filled with joy for the near

arrival of Jesus on Christmas Day.

OnLine Giving

We would like to take the opportunity, once again, to express our gratitude and appreciation to our Online Donors, here at Good

Shepherd Parish, for their generosity this past year. If you are not currently enrolled in our OnLine Giving Program (OLG), you

can learn more about it on the Parish website, or by contacting the parish OLG Administrator at [email protected]

(please use “OLG Administrator” as your ’subject’).

OLG is a convenient and secure means to provide your financial support to Good Shepherd. Whenever we experience bad weath-

er, travel or find ourselves in situations that prevent us from week-ly Mass, we know that our financial support continues, uninter-rupted. As we approach the end of the year, we want to remind donors to print out their annual financial donations for tax pur-

poses. (NOTE: only those financial donations made thru the OnLine Giving Program are recorded here and available to

be printed off).

May God continue to Bless our Parish Family this Advent and Christmas Season.

Gospel Reading (Matthew 11:2-11)

Jesus tells John the Baptist of the signs of the kingdom that are being worked through him and praises John as more than a prophet. Family Connection

It is easy to look at our world and become discouraged by the apparent absence of God and signs of God's salvation. Advent, however, is a sea-son of hope, in which we acknowledge that salvation is both mysteriously present, even in our world, and yet to be fulfilled.

Read together today's Gospel. Think about John's question to Jesus: Are you the One? Jesus does not answer directly, but points to the signs of the kingdom present in his midst.

Together as a family, look through the newspaper for signs of hope that God is at work in our world. Pray that the world will know God's salva-tion by praying together the Lord's Prayer. (Loyola Press)
