    We exist to welcome ALL people by sharing the Love of Christ!

  • PRELUDE

    GATHERING SONG Go Tell It On the Mountain Praise Team

    Go tell it on the mountain

    Over the hills and ev'rywhere

    Go tell it on the mountain

    That Jesus Christ is born

    While shepherds kept their watching

    O'er silent flocks by night

    Behold throughout the heavens

    There shone a holy light

    The shepherds feared and trembled

    When lo above the earth

    Rang out the angel chorus

    That hailed the Savior's birth

    Go tell it on the mountain

    Over the hills and ev'rywhere

    Go tell it on the mountain

    That Jesus Christ is born

    Down in a lowly manger

    The humble Christ was born

    And God sent us salvation

    That blessed Christmas morn

    Go tell it on the mountain

    Over the hills and ev'rywhere

    Go tell it on the mountain

    That Jesus Christ is born

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    Jesus Christ is born

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    Savior of the world

    Go tell it on the mountain

    Over the hills and ev'rywhere

    Go tell it on the mountain

    That Jesus Christ is born

    *HYMN Joy to the World (v 1,2,4) & Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee UMH 246

    Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

    Let earth receive her King;

    Let every heart prepare him room,

    and heaven and nature sing,

    and heaven and nature sing,

    and heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

    Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!

    Let all their songs employ;

    while fields and flocks, rocks, hills, and plains,

    repeat the sounding joy,

    repeat the sounding joy,

    repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

    He rules the world with truth and grace,

    and makes the nations prove

    the glories of his righteousness,

    and wonders of his love,

    and wonders of his love,

    and wonders, wonders of his love.

    Joyful, joyful we adore You, God of glory, Lord of light;

    Angels lifting praise before You sing thro'-out this holy night.

    In a manger lies a Baby- Child of Mary, Son of God.

    Voices joined in joyful chorus praise You for Your gift of love.

    All Your works declare Your glory; all creation joins to sing

    Praise re-sounds as earth rejoices in the birth of Christ the King.

    Shepherds kneel before the Infant, trumpets sound and anthems raise.

    As with joy our hearts are lifted, join in wonder, love and praise.

    LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT CANDLE - JOY The Slone Family

    John 1:6-8, 19-28 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify to

    the light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He himself was not the light, but he came to

    testify to the light.

    19 This is the testimony given by John when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to

    ask him, “Who are you?” 20 He confessed and did not deny it, but confessed, “I am not the

    Messiah.” 21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the

    prophet?” He answered, “No.” 22 Then they said to him, “Who are you? Let us have an answer

    for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said,

    “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ “as the

    prophet Isaiah said.

    24 Now they had been sent from the Pharisees. 25 They asked him, “Why then are you baptizing if

    you are neither the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?” 26 John answered them, “I baptize with

    water. Among you stands one whom you do not know, 27 the one who is coming after me; I am

    not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal.” 28 This took place in Bethany across the Jordan

    where John was baptizing.

    Reader One: We want everything to look nice: the decorations of the season, our homes with

    their lights and tinsel, wreaths and ribbons. We want to lighten the darkness around us, bring

    beauty to the ugliness that wears us down. We decorate, because it is tradition. Because it lifts

    our hearts. Because it makes us feel like children again. We deck our halls because company is

    coming.

    Reader Two: The prophet Isaiah smiled when he said, “God will give a garland instead of ashes,

    the oil of gladness instead of mourning, a mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit.” No matter

    how far we feel from the spirit of the season, God promises to decorate us with love and with

    joy.

    Reader One: We light these candles as a sign of our joy in the beautiful things of this season –

    not just the things that glitter and flash, but the deeper things, the beauty of the heart and the

    soul, the beauty of love shared in service and hospitality. We light this candle of joy because

    company is coming. (Light the Pink Candle)

    Reader Two: O Come, O Come Emmanuel.

    SONG OF PRAISE Joseph’s Lullaby Praise Team

    Go to sleep my Son

    This manger for your bed

    You have a long road before You

    Rest Your little head

    Can You feel the weight of Your glory?

    Do You understand the price?

    Or does the Father guard Your heart for now

    So You can sleep tonight?

  • December 13, 2020 3rd Sunday of Advent Page 6

    Go to sleep my Son

    Go and chase Your dreams

    This world can wait for one more moment

    Go and sleep in peace

    I believe the glory of Heaven

    Is lying in my arms tonight

    But Lord, I ask that He for just this moment

    Simply be my child

    Go to sleep my Son

    Baby, close Your eyes

    Soon enough You'll save the day

    But for now, dear Child of mine

    Oh my Jesus, Sleep tight

    Angels from the realms of glory,

    wing your flight o’er all the earth;

    ye who sang creation’s story

    now proclaim Messiah’s birth.

    Come and worship, come and worship,

    worship Christ, the new born King.

    Shepherds, in the field abiding,

    watching o’er your flocks by night,

    God with us is now residing;

    yonder shines the infant light.

    Come and worship, come and worship,

    worship Christ, the new born King.

    Sages, leave your contemplations,

    brighter visions beam afar;

    seek the great Desire of nations;

    ye have seen his natal star.

    Come and worship, come and worship,

    worship Christ, the new born King.

    In the midst of Christmas carols and holiday cheer, there can also be a sense of loss and grief. For some,

    these days are less than celebratory. Whether missing a loved one, living through a difficult transition or spending

    the holidays alone, feeling joyous and hopeful can be a challenge. Even though these days are a struggle, it is important to

    gather as the body of Christ and nurture one another through these times.

    If you, or someone you know, would benefit from joining together in a unique worship experience of finding hope in

    the midst of pain, please join us online for this service
