FUMC-BA News this Week! December 1, 2013 JOHN 1: 1-5, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. This Week! Advent begins! We will begin our four Sunday journey to the manger of Bethlehem. Make sure you are here as we sing favorite carols and songs, enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations and hear the stories that never grow old! Next Week! “The Curious Case of the Grinch” We all know the story of the Grinch – Dr. Seuss’ memorable character who tried to ‘steal’ Christmas. But during the first Christmas there were some real life Grinches who did their best to keep Jesus from entering the world. How could anyone take a stand against salvation? Come next week as we continue to move through the glorious season of Advent!
