What is Business Intelligence (BI)?

BI allows us to: pull together disparate data

sources deliver key information to the

people who need it, quickly and efficiently

make evidence driven decisions at the strategic level

present data in a variety of output formats, tailored for target users and audiences

Where does BI fit within DEC?

Governance: Information Governance Group (IGG), senior representation from all parts of DEC

Broader context: NSW Government ICT Strategy enabling data sharing open data

BI is not LMBR: LMBR is replacing most of DEC’s core data source systems

Operational reporting will be provided by LMBRDEC BI aims to support strategic decisions across

LMBR and other systems
