To what extent should Internationalism be pursued?

As the world is joined in internationalism, peace and prosperity is increased and foreign intermingling can be achieved. Countries are able to

join the UN and strive to create a peaceful, economic world that shall function greatly towards a better world.

Cultural Diversity

Should Foreigners be allowed to be included in political decisions that could affect our nation? Many people of different nations feel that internationalism

is a factor that could affect their culture, collective identity and ultimately, their nation. The flow of influence and foreign immigrants affect how a nation reacts to global issues when people of that ethnicity demand support for the (other) nation ex: New Canadians pressuring the government to help Haiti

after the earthquake.

International Trade

When different nations co-operate, trading is increased that can benefit the nations or certain corporations. This can be a positive internationalism that could expand the international market and benefit other nations, but it could also lead to tension and mistrust of other nations. These tensions

could climax to a global war or issue that effects all nations ex: 9/11.

Immigration

The act of immigration and intermingling of different diversities, has caused some tension in nations and some extreme decisions by citizens. These

actions have caused the need for UN peace keeping missions, other national assistance, and change in culture ex: the USA in Iran.

International Affairs

The tensions between nations may lead to war that could cause an international economic setback that could affect growing nations. The act of

war may prompt other nations to try to “help” so that they can gain resources and keep the “peace” ex: the USA in Iran.

Extreme International Affairs

Some nations are fixed on improving their own nation that others are forgotten, even when there is genocide going on. The other nations may

perceive the other nation’s genocide as being a fight between tribal people that have been happening for years.
