You can view the sun rising from the Pacific Ocean to the east, Hachinohe city to the north, and the sun setting into the Hakkoda Moun- tains beyond. To the south, the grandeur of the Kitakami mountains unfolds. ere are three trails for hiking: the Toyabe route starting at Forestpia Hashikami, the East route (Terashita), and the West route (Tashiro). Mt. Hashikami- dake is easily accessible in the winter as well. e rich and pristine nature of the mountain attracts hikers during all seasons. Mt. Colonies of around 20,000 wild azaleas paint the Obirakitai area red at the 8 th station of the mountain. e best season to view them is early June and a number of tourists gather here during this season. Fawn lily e purple flowers of the fawn lily live in colonies in the midst of Mt. Hashikamidake as if they are hiding. ey are in bloom from early to late April and attract hikers with adorable flowers like fairies. Madanoki (Linden) A tall linden tree soars toward the sky as if it is en- couraging hikers at around the 7 th station of the mountain. e birth of the tree trunk is 3.5m and the height is 20m. It is estimated to be 350 years old. It is also designated as a hometown tree and loved by locals with its nickname, Madanoki. Plants in Mt. A range of local marine products, vegetables, processed food and souvenirs are available. �e mountain rises 740m above sea level. �e rolling hills give the mountain the shape of a cow lying down. �is is why the mountain is also called Gagyu-zan (lying cow mountain). You can view the sun rising from the Pacific Ocean to the east, Hachinohe city to the north, and the sun setting into the Hakkoda Moun-tains beyond. To the south, the grandeur of the Kitakami mountains unfolds. �ere are three trails for hiking: the Toyabe route starting at Forestpia Hashikami, the East route (Terashita), and the West route (Tashiro). Mt. Hashikami-dake is easily accessible in the winter as well. �e rich and pristine nature of the mountain attracts hikers during all seasons.

�e wild azalea is the town flower. Colonies of around 20,000 wild azaleas paint the Obirakitai area red at the 8th station of the mountain. �e best season to view them is early June and a number of tourists gather here during this season.
