EVENT SUMMARY

Process for nominating a speaker for the event:
Please note that as a sponsor, you are very welcome to submit a presentation proposal
and we will consider all proposals received seriously. However, please note that unless
you are a Diamond, Platinum or Gold Sponsor, you are not automatically guaranteed
a speaking slot. Should you wish to nominate a speaker for ITWeb BPM & Automation
2020, please send the following to the conference producer, Vineshia Petersen,
1. Details of your proposed speaker, including job title, a brief bio and photo
2. A brief (paragraph or two) synopsis of your proposed presentation
3. Key takeaway points for the delegates (4-5)
If possible, please submit a case study proposal and co-present with a client. These
presentations have a much higher probability of being accepted and will take preference
in terms of positioning on the programme. However, you will need to provide the
details of your client’s speaker at the time that you submit the proposal in order for it
to be considered.
Please note that we do have deadlines in terms of the programme which we kindly ask
that you respect. Unless you have come on board as a sponsor very close to the event,
you will need to provide the above information at least 2 months in advance of the
conference taking place, otherwise it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate
your speaker on the programme. If you have signed up as a sponsor within two months

of the event running, a speaking slot will be considered if there is still space on the
programme. However, this will be at the discretion the conference producer.

Speaker guidelines
Presentations
Please be advised that if you wish to provide a speaker for the plenary or the track
sessions, no sales pitches are allowed. You are kindly requested to speak generically
about your chosen topic without referencing your company’s products or solutions (if
you are a solution provider). If your presentation is obviously a sales pitch you will be
asked by the chairperson to stop your presentation.
Where possible we would request that you put forward a senior representative who is
an industry expert and not a sales or marketing executive. Sales/marketing executives
are welcome to submit a presentation proposal for the product/demo area (see below).
End-user speakers are encouraged to focus on case studies and the practical application
of the subject rather than theory. If you are a solution provider, we recommend that you
invite a client to give a joint presentation with you, as these presentations are popular
and will be given preference in terms of position on the programme.
Presentations should be content-rich and content should be up to date and relevant to
the target audience. A breakdown of job titles and industry sectors can be provided on
request.
Slides should have minimal content and not too much text. Less is more! Please also
limit the number of slides to 15-20 maximum to ensure that you don’t overrun.
We respectfully ask that our deadlines for draft and final presentations are adhered to.
If presentation deadlines are not met, unfortunately your presentation may be moved
to later in the day or removed from the programme completely.
Presentations must be presented on ITWeb AV equipment. If you have video or audio
as part of your presentation, please ensure that you send it with your draft so that we
can check that it runs on our equipment.

Product/Demo area
For our larger events, there is the option of submitting a product presentation and/or
demonstration which will take place either in an ‘auditorium’ which will be part of the
exhibition area, or in a separate track. We will still need the name, profile and photo
of the speaker and a synopsis of your proposed talk, but for these speaking slots the
guidelines around sales pitches do not apply.

These are must-reads for anyone who is interested in improving their presentation or
moderating skills. Even if you are already a speaking pro, each post is likely to give you
