ACADEMICS
We implore our dear Parents and Guardians to support us in
monitoring and ensuring that your ward(s) school notes are neatly
kept and are up-to-date on each subject. Most of our students' notes
are rough, dog eared and tattered. Parents and Guardians of
students in the boarding house are to always take advantage of the stvisiting days (every 1 Sunday of the month) to check your ward's
notes. This is not supposed to be a picnic day, but a day set aside, to
check what the children have done in school and to report any
inadequacy to hostel managers. We must all be involved in this
aspect too.
PROHIBITION FROM SITTING FOR WAEC/NECO GCE EXAMINATION IN SSS 2
It has been observed that some students, notably the SSS 2 students do register for Nov/Dec GCE O/Level Examinations. This is to inform you that our students are banned from sitting for these examinations. The examinations are meant for those who have completed their Secondary Education but could not make the required minimum of five credits to gain admission into Higher Institutions. Apart from distraction these examinations can cause these students, to be exposed to so many vices such as examination malpractices. They also stand the danger of losing so much in the classrooms during the time they are writing these examinations. While we understand that many parents register their wards out of fear and anxiety for success of these children, we want to reassure you that the college is committed to adequate preparation of these students for their final examinations. Our past records attest to this.
GENERAL ATTITUDE/BEHAVIOUR AND DRESSINGOur position on these issues stand as stated in previous Newsletters.
DISRUPTION OF SCHOOL CLASSES & PROGRAMMES:
The school programmes are always contained in the school
calendar and newsletters sent to you. We will appreciate if social
and religious activities that involve our students are planned and
slated for vacation periods.
Obtaining permission for your ward while classes are on-going or
before the school closes for the day/term disrupt the school
activities and make your ward miss vital information that might be
passed across while he/she is away. It also sets negative precedent
for other students. Please leave them to attend their classes and to
remain in the school until the school closes for the day/term. The
school will henceforth apply stricter restrictions on this issue.
PUNCTUALITY & REGULARITY IN SCHOOL:
We implore our Parents/Guardians to ensure that your ward gets to
school on time. We are not pleased with the way some day student
stroll into the school. We therefore appeal to our parents to release
and or bring your ward(s) to school on time so that they can imbibe
the appropriate values of punctuality and proper timing.
The School's activities start from the morning assembly at 7:40a.m
and classes starts at 8:10a.m. Parents and Guardians are advised to
encourage your ward(s) to be regular in school. However, you are
advised to please inform your ward's form master/mistress or
school management if your ward will be unavoidably absent from
school.
Please note that any student coming to school after 8:30a.m will
not be allowed to enter the school premises.
We count on your support to keep meeting our SET STANDARDS.
“Punctuality is the Soul of Business”
SAFETY:
Parents, do ensure, you are aware of your wards movement during
this holiday, likewise, you should scrutinize their peers and pals.
May the Lord keep them from all harms.
HAIRSTYLE:
The female hairstyle will now be monthly. Students are advised to
keep their hair tidy at all times. Any defaulter will be sent home
immediately on getting to the school.
Parents, do help us to maintain proper hygiene, grooming and
appearance/mien.
PROHIBITION OF ELECTRONIC GADGETS:
The use of electrical gadgets is still prohibited. Any gadget found
with the students will be confiscated and not returned to such
student or their parents.
