October 3, 2019 Dear Holy Family Parents and Friends, Greetings from Holy Family! Tomorrow is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. If you remember back to the teachings of the Church, he is the patron saint of animals. He is also the founder of the Franciscan Order. I mention this for a couple reasons. First, today we had our annual Pet Blessing with Fr. Patrick Beno presiding. It was awesome to see so many pets present. What I loved the most was the joy and pride I witnessed in all the children who had pets present for the blessing. A special thank you goes out to all of the parents who made time to bring their pets to school. I also mention this because we may soon need to build an ark to house all of our pets if the rain doesnt let up soon. All kidding aside, I mention all the rain because despite our best efforts, several students have fallen on the playground, resulting in them getting a little muddy. The new gaga ball pit has not helped with that either. Dont get me wrong, we are blessed to have it and the kids would probably play inside it whether it were dry or filled with two inches of water. Regardless, we will try to do a better job of closing the gaga ball pit on these really wet days. For the month of October we are focusing on the Catholic Virtue of Justice. To learn more and carry out a discussion with your children at home, please CLICK HERE. Lastly, please mark your calendars for Parent-Teacher Conferences. This year they take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 1:00- 6:00 PM. All parents will receive a link to begin scheduling conferences early next week. As is the case every Thursday, below are a few important announcements and reminders. Please take a few minutes to read everything over. If you have questions, please contact school at (920) 494-1931. Make it a GREAT dayThe Holy Family Way! Steve Gromala Principal #CometsforChrist

Looking for something fun to do? Trunk or Treat and Grilled Cheese Showdown Coming

Mark your calendar for the second annual Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. We started this event last year and it was truly a great time for parents and the kids alike. If you have never been to a Trunk or Treat before, the way it works is simple. You simply come and park your vehicle, decorate it for Halloween, and hand out candy. It’s a safe way for our students to have some Halloween fun. Students and parents alike are welcome to wear costumes. New this year will be something we are calling the Grilled Cheese Showdown. Mr. Gromala went to a similar event once in Manawa and thought it was so cool that we should give it a try at Holy Family. We are looking for parents who might like to enter the contest. You purchase the supplies you need and HASA will charge families a small amount per sandwich, which will include chips and a drink. Those in attendance can then vote for the best sandwich. More information about all the details will be made available soon. For now, we need parents to sign up for both the Trunk or Treat and the Grilled Cheese Showdown. You can do so by CLICKING HERE.

If you are interested in becoming a coach or assistant coach but are not VIRTUS trained, there is a VIRTUS training session being held at Holy Family School on Saturday, September 21st.

Athletic Booster Club News Holy Family is very lucky to have a quality athletic program. This is due to the tireless work of a 100% volunteer force called the Athletic Booster Club. Without this club, sports would not exist at our school. You may or may not be aware of this, but sports are technically separate from the overall school program. Currently the Booster Club is in desperate need of new volunteers and some people who might consider becoming offices for the 2020-21 school year. There will be a meeting on October 9, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Burkles One Block Over for those interested in getting involved. Please contact Scott LaFond at [email protected].

Parking Lot Traffic As another reminder, PLEASE be safe in the parking lot when dropping off and picking up your child. Please pull all the way forward to drop off your child and do not stop in the middle because doing so stops all traffic. If you wish to get out of your vehicle to give your child a hug or escort them to the door, please find a parking spot. We thank you for your cooperation!
