Dear Good News Members and Friends,
Praise God, we have come this far ONLY
by FAITH, resting on and in the promises of our God who is our peace and strength giver.
As we leave the former days of 2018 to the
ages and begin the dawn of a New Year in 2019, let us bow in humble submission to thank God for every valley, for every
mountain and for every trial, GOD has brought us through. We stand victorious in Him and through it all because we serve
a faithful God. And never forget and always remember your name is still
VICTORY. This booklet has been put together with
you in mind, for you to have continuous victory in Christ in 2019 and beyond. The
victory that you will have in 2019 is
conveyed within the number 19.
Within the Bible, the spiritual meaning of the number 19 symbolizes Faith and
Healing. What a powerful confirmation and affirming message, that has been
echoing and resonating throughout the sanctuary of the Good News Church.
3
Remember the simple but yet powerful anointed song of deliverance, that
Evangelist Nicole Jackson ministered to us on December 9th during our 11am service? The words were, “I am healed. I am healthy. I am whole. Because the Word says so.” Those are excellent words, to
take with you into 2019. I Thessalonians 5:23 also validates the words of that song which says; And the very God of peace
sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be
preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In fact, Jesus says so because he said, The thief cometh not, but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that
they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
Jesus says, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)
4
Jesus says, Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:18-20)
Beloved, begin this new year – 2019, with words of faith, words of hope, words of
life, words of prosperity, words of victory, words of success, words that
speak of being more than a conqueror, words of encouragement, words of I can, words of expectation, words that bless
and words that heal.
Remember your words have the power to destroy and the power to build up (Proverbs 12:6). The writer of Proverb tells
us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its
fruit”. Will you, use words to build up people up or words that will destroy them? Like tools words can be used to help us
reach our goals – so use your tools, words with good wisdom.
5
When this happens, we can win the lost at all cost and be fitly joined together to
supply what is needed for the ministry of the Good News Church of God in Christ in
2019. My desire for all of you is that you will
earnestly take this time to consecrate and seek the face of God during these 21 days.
God bless you and keep you.
Your Servant Leader,
Pastor Samuel C. Canty, M.Ed.

What is Favor?
The best description-definition of the
word favor is best understood by using the
word delight. The favor of God can be
expressed as tangible, noticeable and
visible evidence that a person has the
approval of the Lord upon their life.
When we favor someone, or approve of
them, we want to be with them. We
delight in them and perhaps there is some
indication of wanting to be like them;
emulating, not to be a copycat but
wanting to model certain characteristics of
delight.
In this life we will connect better and
quicker with some people, whereas with
others, it will take time and with
purposeful intention, but it does happen.
Then God will create and present
opportunities such as the encounter Jesus
had at the well with the Samarian women.
Their connection was all about water.
Yes, God will take the simple things in life
to create favor – delight.
7
In the same way, God shows favor to the
ones who delight in, connect with, and
give honor to Him. Isaiah 66:2 says,
“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in
spirit, and who tremble at my
word.” Second Chronicles 16:9 says, “For
the eyes of the LORD run to and fro
throughout the whole earth, to show
himself strong on behalf of them whose
heart is perfect toward him.” To be
“perfect” toward Him means we seek His
favor more than we seek the favor of
anyone else, even ourselves.
Remember, favor is closely related to grace
in the Bible. Those who have received
Jesus as their Savior are saved by grace
through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9) and
because of grace, they also receive the
favor of God. Those who are favored of God
know that God is with them and that
nothing can happen to them apart from
His good purpose (Romans 8:28). They
have His ear as they walk through dark
valleys (Psalm 34:15) and know that their
struggle to remain true to Him will not go
unrewarded (Matthew 10:42; Revelation
2:10).
8
In addition to outward evidences, God’s
favor can be felt in the spirit. When we
have the favor of the Lord, we rest in quiet
confidence that our sins are forgiven
(Romans 4:7), we are within the plan of
God (Psalm 86:11), and that He is there
for us at all times – because he will never
leave us nor forsake.
Our Lord invites us to seek His favor
(Psalm 119:58, 135; 2 Kings
13:4; Jeremiah 26:19; Zephaniah 2:3).
When we seek His favor, we humble our
hearts before Him (2 Kings 22:19); seek
Him for Himself, not just for the blessings,
but we seek him to know him and we seek
his face to live for him.
Finally, one way to obtain favor from the
Lord is to seek wisdom. Proverbs
8:35 says, “For those who find me
[wisdom] find life and receive favor from
the LORD.” Finding favor with the Lord
keeps our lives and thoughts pure
because we desire to please Him and
delight in him more than we desire to
please ourselves. As you begin to put
together your resolutions for 2019 make
sure one of your items is this; having favor
with God will produce favor with mankind.

Vision of the Ministry
To be fitly joined together to do ministry by delivering and
demonstrating the Gospel of Jesus Christ that will empower the local church, to establish and implement
programs that will enhance and increase faith with application of
God’s Word, to influence and impact our community until the coming of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
We are a ministry that is going from good to great, doing ministry in excellence, because we serve an
excellent God
And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may
run that readeth it.
Habakkuk 2:2

What does it mean to Consecrate?
To consecrate means to dedicate something
or somebody for and to a specific purpose.
The word consecrate in Hebrew, is also
synonymous to the word SANCTIFY, which
also means to set something apart for a
specific purpose. The phrase "make holy"
also implies to consecrate.
There is a particular moral aspect to the
word, when you take the word and
translate it to purify, dedicate, sanctify,
and make holy. All of these terms are valid
translations for the word consecrate.
To sanctify is always the translation of
qâdash (the KJV is very consistent in this
regard). However, qâdash may also be
rendered to consecrate, and to hallow.
Consecration is a sort of "old-fashioned"
term. It is found most often in the Old
Testament, referencing to items that are to
be set apart as holy, for the purposes of
worshipping God.
12
That is why this 21-day fast is important so
that we can renew our life to worship and
consecrate ourselves to hear from God in
2019.
God is speaking and he wants to be heard,
so he that hath an ear, let him hear what
the spirit is saying to the church which is
YOU.
Jesus proclaimed the doctrine of
consecration throughout His ministry. All
we own and all are relationships, must be
consecrated to God, so they will not
become idols in our lives. No thing or
person is to be held above our relationship
with Jesus Christ.
The classic example is shown in Jesus' dialog
with the young rich ruler found in St. Luke
18:18-27. This ruler asked the question,
"Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit
eternal life?" Although we cannot discern
his attitude from his voice, we sense a
potential insincerity in his question from
Jesus' response to it.
13
Jesus' first response was to challenge his
sincerity in using the word "good" to
describe Him. As the Son of God, Jesus was
"good." However, if the ruler thought of
Him as just another teacher, he would have
never called Him "good," since God alone is
good. Jesus then challenged Him with the
Ten Commandments (actually, only five of
them). The ruler had the audacity to say
that he had kept them all from his youth.
The ruler's response showed a problem
with his attitude, since no one had kept all
the commandments "from his youth." Jesus
knew from his attire and possessions that
the ruler was wealthy and that this wealth
was an idol that had become more
important to him than God.
So He told the man to sell all his
possessions, give the money to the poor,
and follow Him. At this point, the innocent
"question game" had turned deadly serious,
and the ruler realized that Jesus was correct
in His prescription for his life.
14
However, the wealth was more important
to the man than following Jesus, so he sadly
turned away.
Remember, we are called to consecrate to
God, set apart for somebody special, which
is our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
What an amazing privilege, God wants you
to be ready for him so he can use YOU.
So never hold on to anything that will
separate you from knowing and hearing
from GOD.
