Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is a great pleasure and honour to welcome at The 11
th Romanian Congress of Social Paediatrics, The Forum of School Medicine and The 3rd
Congress of Paediatric Association of the Balkans, here in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, during September 12-15, 2018.
This year, our Society celebrates 25 years from the first Romanian Congress of Social Pediatrics, organized by our mentor, Professor Nicolae Miu. Since then, there was an increasing interest in the social needs when caring for children. We hope that this Congress will have an important contribution to the cooperation between paediatricians and other specialties involved in children care, between paediatricians from the Balkan Region, as we are all facing new challenges during the last years.
The main topic of this congress will be the Cooperation in the Balkans for the Health of our Children. There will be sessions covering the chronic diseases in children, public health system in the Balkan region, preventive care, emergency care for children and many other important issues for the health of children. It will be an opportunity for you to present your experience and your work in plenary sessions or poster papers.
Cluj-Napoca lies at the crossroads of the Western Europe and the Balkans and carries all the cultural inheritance of the nations that lived here and transformed it throughout the centuries. Moreover, today, due also to the foreign students coming from all over the World to learn medicine, the multicultural development of our city continues.
We hope that you will have a great time in Cluj-Napoca and this meeting will be a memorable and rewarding experience for all participants.

European Youth Capital is the title awarded to a European city for one year, during which it will be granted the opportunity to present, through a multi-directional program, its life and development, from youth perspective point of view, on cultural, social, political and economic issues.
