    ABOUT THE SEMINAR

UiTM Law Faculty always believe that a seminar such as this is a good platform

to expose students to the current environmental issues. It is a time to reflect, not

just on the challenges we face, but on the initiatives, that people are involved to

make sure that the country becomes a better, and more equitable place for us,

    our children, and their children.

Law students are the future lawyers and judges. It is important for them to be

cognizant of the need to have a diversity of knowle in many aspects of life

including the environment because they are the individuals that one day will be

in charge of ensuring that the right of the citizens to a clean and safeenvironment is protected.

    ABOUT THE SEMINARS TOPIC

For this seminar, I understand that the students have chosen drought and cloud

seeding as the topic of the seminar. I learnt that the seminar is intended to

spread awareness amongst the audience about the importance of taking care of

the environment especially in the situation we are currently facing (drought and

haze). This theme is greatly relatable to our current situation as Selangor and a

few other states had recently face water distruption that had interrupted the

    daily lives of the citizens.

I also learnt that the seminar is also held to inform the audience about the details

of the cloud seeding process which is the alternative that is currently being

practiced to overcome the water issue. Our two panelists today are experts on

drought and cloud seeding respectively thus I have no doubt that the audience

will greatly benefit from their talk.

I hope the audience has some knowledge on the topic to be discussed , so that the

Q&A session will be an informative one. As the issue that will be discussed is

close to us, I hope all of your questions will be answered at the end of the

    seminar.

Ladies and Gentlemen, with great honour, I hereby officiate the17th

Environmental Law and Awareness Seminar Series! May this seminar be a

    successful one.

    Thank you.
