GameStop Corp. (817-424-2000) plans to open 400 GameStop stores this year. The company currently trades as GameStop, EB Games and Electronics Boutique and operates 6,100 stores, offering new and used video games and video game consoles, nationwide and throughout 17 countries internationally.

Auto-Lab Franchise Management Corp. (248-994-0206) plans to open 50 Auto-Lab Complete Car Care Centers sites by year’s end, including a focused expansion through franchisees in northern CA and NE. The automotive service and repair facilities offer diagnostic, brake, suspension, fluid and tire services. The company currently operates shops throughout AZ, FL, IA, IL, IN and MI.

Furniture Row, LLC (303-371-8560) plans to open a 70,000 sq.ft. Furniture Row store at Belgate, the 400,000 sq.ft. retail component of a mixed-use center situated on 205 acres along Interstate 85 in the University City area of Charlotte, NC. The property is adjacent to IKEA. The opening will be the company’s first full-price store, and second overall, in NC, as it operates an outlet center along Independence Boulevard in Charlotte.

P.C. Richard & Son, Inc. (631-843-4300) is planning to open P.C. Richard & Son stores throughout CT as part of a plan to operate four consumer electronics locations in the state by the end of next month and six by the end of this year. The company also plans to open two stores each in NJ and the Philadelphia, PA metropolitan area. The company plans to open between seven and 10 stores this year, having opened seven stores during 2009, and is looking to enter the MA and RI markets during the next several years. The company currently operates 57 stores along the East Coast.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-477-4455) will open a 40,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market at Market at Colonnade, a 57,000 sq.ft. center currently under construction at the intersection of Six Forks Road and Colonnade Center Drive in northern Raleigh, NC. The market will open with the center during the early part of 2011. The opening is the first in NC to be opened in new construction, and is the company’s first opening in the state in over 10 years. The company currently operates markets in Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, western Raleigh and Winston-Salem, NC.

Aldi, Inc. (630-879-8100) will open a 17,000 sq.ft. Aldi private-label market along Brady Street in Davenport, IA later this fall as part of a plan to open 80 stores nationwide this year. The company tore down an existing Aldi store at the site earlier this month in order to build the new, larger market. The company currently operates two locations in Davenport, including one along Elmore Avenue and one along Rockingham Road. The company will also open a 17,000 sq.ft. market along Avenue of Cities in Moline, IL this fall, which will replace two existing stores in the city.

Illuminate Gym (303-399-1355), through franchisees, is looking to open boutique personal training gyms nationwide and throughout Canada.

Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. (972-686-6500) plans to open 25 Wingstop restaurants throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area during the coming five years, as part of a plan to open 75 stores throughout the northeastern U.S. The company currently operates 440 restaurants nationwide and throughout Mexico.
