In planning biologically compliant fixed restorations, surgical enhancement of sound tooth structure is frequently a critical component of maintaining biological width and adequate supporting tooth structure. In some cases, crown lengthening surgery can improve gingival esthetics. "Crown lengthening surgery often include osseous re-sculpturing. This hands-on workshop is backed up with background information and case reports of various situations. This will enhance practical clinical experience for case selection, treatment planning, and execution of periodontal flap and crown lengthening surgeries. DR TAN MIN SEET

BDS (Singapore)MDS – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Singapore) FDSRCS Dr Tan Min Seet obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1995. He went on to specialize in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and acquired his Masters in 1998. He was trained in minor surgical procedures such as wisdom tooth operation to tumor and orthognathic surgeries management of the maxillofacial region in the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department. In 1998, he was also conferred fellowship in the Royal Collage of Surgeons, United Kingdom (England).While in private practice, Dr Tan took special interest in implantology. He was certified by the IDEA (Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy) in San Francisco, California, USA in 2004 as a certified implant trainer. In 2005, the Bicon Implant World Symposium appointed Dr Tan as the representative of Singapore and the region. He was also appointed as a member of the Scientific Program Advisory Committee.

Apart from clinical practice, Dr Tan is an advocate for experiential learning. By setting a platform for healthcare specialists to interact and share, the goal is to encourage industry sharing and learning. As a course instructor, he imparts his experiences and knowledge to both local and foreign healthcare specialists.

DR JON B. SUZUKI

DDS, PhD, MBA

Dr. Jon Suzuki is Professor of Microbiology and Immunology (School of Medicine) and Professor of Periodontology and Oral Implantology (School of Dentistry) at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. USA. He served as Chairman and Director of Graduate Periodontology and Oral Implantology, and Associate Dean for Graduate Education at Temple University. He also served as Dean, Chief of Hospital Dentistry, and CEO of the Faculty Practice Plan at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

Dr. Suzuki is the current Chairman of the Food and Drug Administration Dental Products Panel, Silver Spring, MD. and holds this position until 2019. He is on the faculty of the US Walter Reed National Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, and holds Clinical Professorships at the University of Maryland, the University of Washington and Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Suzuki received his D.D.S. from Loyola University of Chicago and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He completed an N.I.H. Fellowship in Immunology at the University of Washington, and a Clinical Certificate in Periodontics at the University of Maryland. He earned an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Fellow of the American and International College of Dentists, Specialist Microbiologist of the National Registry of Medical Microbiology, and Diplomate, Fellow, and immediate Past President of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Suzuki has published over 200 papers, chapters, and symposia, 200 abstracts, and 1 textbook in Medical Technology.

DR MIRIAM TING

DMD, BDS, MS

Dr. Miriam Ting graduated with a DMD (magna cum laude) from Temple University, Philadelphia, and with a BDS from National University of Singapore. She completed a certificate in Advanced Periodontology and a MS in Craniofacial Biology at the University of Southern California. She is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Ting is the Founder and Director of the Think Dental Learning Institute, and has a private practice limited to Periodontology in Paoli, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ting has published numerous research and review papers, systematic reviews, and textbook chapters on periodontal microbiology and dental implant rehabilitation in peer-reviewed journals such as Periodontology 2000, Journal of Oral Implantology, Implant Dentistry, Compendium, Journal of Periodontal Research and European Journal of Oral Sciences.
