Map Reference: ODM 1951-5, Township of Munro.

The property is mainly underlain by Keewatin

greywacke and argillite which strikes N50OW and

dips 650 to 850SW. No. l vein zone strikes

approximately east dips 80OS and has been traced

by drilling and underground workings for a length

1,600 feet and to a depth of 500 feet. The veint

material consists of quartz containing small

amounts of pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena and

sphalerite.

A mineralized zone was found in No.l vein to theieast of the west shaft from surface to a depth

of 250 feet. A section 110 feet^long^nd 31 inches

wide averaged $10.61 (0.31 ounces) gold per ton.

Mines the following statement was made: "No ore

of commercial^jrade^was found and the option was

I am enclosing a final report on the

work carried out on the company's property in

1946. During this program surface diamond

drilling to the extent of 15,#12' was completed

and a surface crew employed in trenching and

prospecting. Submitted with this report are a

new property geological map showing the location

of the drill holes and 3# drill hole section plans.

The report is a summary of the results

with recommendations for future work.

FOREWORD

December lith, 1945 a diamond drilling program was begun

on the property of the White Guyatt Mining Company, Matheson,

Ontario, This drilling program continued until September 19th,

1946. During the period 15,312' of drilling was completed. In

conjunction with the diamond drilling, surface work was carried

on during the Summer and Fall months with the employment of several

men.

The diamond drilling recently completed fallowed a period

of non-activity at the property during the war years. Early

diamond drill and surface exploration in 1936 by the White Guyatt

Company met with considerable success when an ore section was

indicated in the No. l vein on surface. This was followed by an

underground program carried out by the Wright Hargreaves Mines in

1940. Approximately 1000 feet of drifting was done by this

company at the 90 foot level of the east shaft of the White Guyatt.

Though the Wright Hargreaves work did not prove up any ore the

underground drifting followed a continuous strong vein in the No.

l zone with occasional ore assays and frequent showing of visible

gold. During this work a high grade find was made in the No. l

Vein on surface from which coarse gold was removed.

In view of the previous success met in exploration the

early part of the recent program carried on by the White Guyatt

in 1946 was directed to deep exploration of the No. l Vein. This

was followed by several cross-section exploration holes on the

property and then a fairly intensive drilling of the west end of

the No. l Vein where an ore chute is indicated.

DIAMOND DRILLING AND EXPLOhATION

The following Diamond Drill holes were completed in the

1946 program. Diamond drilling was carried out by the Heath and

Sherwood Company of Kirkland Lake.

No. l Vein

The four deep holes drilled to the No. l vein are Nos7 S-ll, S-12, S-15, and S-23. A fifth deep hole S-14 located at the extreme east end of the No. l entered the contact zone where the identity of the No. l vein is lost. The deep holes are located about 500* apart along the No. l Zone and made intersections with the vein between 400' and 500' vertical depth. Vein appearance in all deep holes is good. Values however did not exceed #6.30 over l, O 1 of core length. The assay values of the deep holes are as follows:-

While the above recorded values are not ore grade the good vein appearance in the core and the fact that the holes are spaced 500' apart allows the possibility that ore may exist at these horizons.

In the shallower drilling of the No. l vein an ore chute has been indicated as lying east of the west shaft between 100' and 250' vertical. The drill hole values obtained in this section are as follows:-

These results show a good possibility of an ore chute in this

section of the No. l vein. Some additional drilling should be

done to further prove up the occurrence at a vertical depth of

300-400 feet and with encouragement underground exploration would

be justified.

Some holes have shown very wide widths of vein material

in the No. 1. These holes are located near the east end of the

indicated ore chute. Hole No. S-30 shows 30 feet of vein matter

from 220' to 250' all carrying low gold values with one section

showing |5.95 across 1,6'. Hole No. S-33 intersected 57' of vein

matter from 186' to 243'. The core all carried low values with two

included sections of 48,40 across 2.0' and |8.75 across 4.0'.

Hole No. 46 cut 52' of vein matter from 130' to 182', This length

of core all carried low values with the best section running |2,10

across 2.5'. Hole No. 47 intersected 44' of vein matter from 108'

to 152'. The core carried low values throughout with one section

running &10.50 across 2.0'. these wide sections might of course

show improved grade in underground exploration. The shape and

attitude of these occurrences can only be guessed at from diamond

drilling.

No. 2 Vein

At the end of August a very rich gold occurrence was found

on the property while surface trenching on the No. 2 vein. Subsequent

work found visible gold at intervals along 200' of the vein. Practically

all the coarse high grade recovered however came from a section 28'

l ong near the original discovery. The high grade was confined to a

narrow vein of blue quartz about 3" to 5" wide. The full vein width

of the No, 2 is about two feet. Two pits were begun on the showing

. 5 .

and carried to a depth of 7' when wet weather stopped the work.

Stripping of the vein was carried out for a distance of 250'

where overburden permitted. Sampling of the vein showed erratic

low values except the rich 2# ! section where all values were high.

A bulk sample of 40 Ibs. taken from the high grade section of the

No. 2 vein ran l.#2 ozs. or |63.70 per ton.

At the east end of the No. 2 vein considerable surface

work was done on a wide zone of small veins occurring in the

sediments close to the sheared and altered greenstone-sedimentary

contact. In this zone isolated veins have returned values as high

as |22.SO across 25". A rock trench blasted across 70* of this

material showed all values taken in 3 ! chip samples to be between

17# and 70#. However in the same zone crossed by the rock trench

a pit sunk on a small quartz lead showed it to widen to 3' of quartz

at a depth of S.O' and returned values as high as |14*00 across 10",

The zone is a potentially important section which diamond drilling

might prove to contain ore. This section and the No. 2 vein are

500' from the American Eagle shaft where considerable high grade was

found in past work. At the end of the diamond drill program three

short holes Nos, S-50, S-51, S-52 were drilled to the No. 2 vein

intersecting it about 50' vertical. These showed only low values

although a speck of visible gold was seen in the vein intersection

in Hole No. S-52.

No, 4 and No. 5 Veins

Both these veins are located close to a prominent fault

crossing the property. The No. 5 vein had shown considerable

visible gold in earlier work on the property. Drill holes S-16

and S-27 however drilled to the No, 5 failed to obtain a good

intersection.

The No, 4 vein was further stripped on surface showing

wide vein widths but only low values. Hole No. S-17 drilled to

intersect the No. 4 and cross-section north of it obtained 35#

across 13.5 1 in the No. 4 vein and 2.92 ozs. (|102.20) from footage

435.l 1 to 43S.3', a length of 3.2 1 . Visible gold was found in this

rich section. A second hole, No. S-4#, drilled to check the inter

section in S-17 obtained 35# across 37*5' in the No. 4 vein, and

only low values in other veins cut. In spite of the high grade

occurrence in Hole No. S-17 there is little evidence of a persistent

vein. The No. 4 vein area holds some promise particularly for

drilling along strike near the fault.

Cross Section Drilling

To cover the projected strike of the Gold Pyramid veins

from which gold has been produced on the adjoining property, a long

hole, No. S-49, was drilled on the WhiteGuyatt. Several interesting

intersections were met in this hole, the best showing 111.20 for a

core length of 2,0' at a vertical depth of 500', A well mineralized

vein appears in this hole from 166.5* to 202,6'. This may be the

south Pyramid vein. The best value obtained was &1.75 across 2.8',

The fault with which the north Pyramid vein is associated may

correlate with a mud seam cut in S-49 at 450'. Vein matter with

arsenopyrite mineralization is associated with the mud seam at this

depth.

Two long holes were drilled across the greenstone -

sedimentary contact zone. These are S-14 on claim 9255 and hole

S-26 in claim 2744. This zone which is carbonated and altered

across a width of 300' has yielded only low gold values. In both

holes altered rock resembling porphyry was intersected. Surface

evidence also indicates that an intrusive porphyry body is present

in the contact zone.

Hole S-29 was drilled to the vein occurrence and the

porphyry dykes near the gravel pit in claim 2744. Between footages

1#0 and 225 a number of values were obtained varying from #1.40

to &3.50. This hole was stopped in diabase.

Surface Exploration

Surface prospecting, trenching, and stripping was

carried on by a small crew from July 1st to December 15th, In

addition to the work along the No. 2 vein described above many

other veins were opened and sampled. A vein stretch of about

306 1 was stripped and sampled 100' north of the No. l vein

yielding low values and a little visible gold. The No. 4 vein

was stripped and revealed some wide width of vein matter.

Sampling of the gravel pit vein returned some interesting values

as follows:- |9.45 across 21", #14.70 across 23", &16.45 across

14". Prospecting has picked up what would appear to be the western

extension of the No. l vein in claim 44099. However a diamond

drill hole, No. S-13, failed to check vein occurrence of importance

in thifc section.

GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE

Diamond drilling and surface work have helped confirm

the opinion that veins Nos. l, 2, and 4 are located in the proximity

of faults crossing the White Guyatt property in an east-northeast

direction. In a locality where there are numerous erratic gold

occurrences in small veins these faults with associated gold bearing

veins are favorable to the localization of ore occurrences. The

drilling of the No. l vein zone has shown a strong vein over much

of a length of 1500'. A number of ore intersections have been ma

and there is indicated at present a possible ore zone near the west

shaft. Certain of the holes have shown very wide widths in the

No. l zone which would be important objectives for underground ex

ploration.

Whatever the relative importance of the several veins

on the property may prove to be it is likely that the controlling

structure is fracturingjn the sediments caused by the faulting

along the greenstone-sedimentary contact zone. Large ore bodies

could be formed along this zone by the development of a width of

gold bearing quartz stringers. Some evidence of this is seen on

the White Guyatt which should be investigated by diamond drilling.

It is likely that a considerable increase in the amount

of feldspar porphyry on the property occurs at a relatively shallow

depth. It is interesting to note that all deep holes encountered

porphyry and very few shallow holes intersected any,

RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that four more holes be drilled to

the No. l vein to intersect below the indicated ore section at

depths of 400' vertical. The successful holes have been inter

secting the vein between 100' and 300 ! vertical. The four holes

would require about 3000' of drilling.

Other sections on the property deserve further drilling,

particularly the wide zone of veins at the east end of the No, 2

vein. It is recommended that at least one deep hole probe the

possibilities of this zone.

To investigate the No. 2 vein several holes should be drilled

to intersect it at depths of 200' along the projected strike ^^

between the No. 2 and the north Pyramid vein.

Considering the possibility that an early decision might

be made to carry out underground investigation of the No. l Vein,

it is recommended that a program of 7000' of diamond drilling be

proceeded with, the first four holes to be drilled to the No. l Vein.t

SUMMARY

The indicated ore section in the No, l vein just east

of the west shaft is the most important result of the exploration

program recently completed. Sufficiently good results have been

obtained that serious thought can be given .to underground ex

ploration. It is recommended that four additional drill holes be

put down in the indicated ore section to intersect the veins at

400' vertical before decision is made on underground work.

Other veins on the property have shown interesting

values particularly the No. 2 where considerable coarse gold was

found on surface. It is recommended that the immediate program

be confined to exploration of the No. l and the No. 2 veins by diamond

drilling. For this purpose 7000' of diamond drilling will be

required of which the first 3000' should be directed to the No. l

vein.
