    Duval County Public Schools High School Graduation Requirements

    Courses

    For students entering grade 9prior to 2006-2007

    For students entering grade 9for the first time in 2006-2007

    For students entering gradefor the first time in 2007-200

    and thereafter

    English 4 credits (major concentrationin composition and literature)

    4 credits (majorconcentration incomposition and literature)

    4 credits (include writingrequirements appropriatelyrigorous not just a literaturecourse)

    Mathematics 3 credits (one of which mustbe Algebra I, one of whichmust be geometry or theirequivalent)

    4 credits in grades 9-121 Algebra I - required1 geometry- required1 Algebra II - required1 additional math

    ** Students who scored a Level 1 or 2 on the FCAT Reading and/or Mathematics tests must be scheduled into an appropriateintensive reading/mathematics course or provided remediation as determined by diagnosis of needs.

    Students must complete four (4) Major Area of Interest (MAI) credits prior to graduation.
