Social outreach activities and events of the NSS unit of
DCOP
Tree Plantation
On the occasion of Vanmohatsav week“Tree Plantation” drive was organized byNSS unit of Dayanand College ofPharmacy, on Saturday 24th of August2019 where 100 plants of different specieswere planted by the 50 NSS volunteers atVenkatesh Residency, Malwati road roadLatur, under the presence of Principal Mrs.Satpute K.L, other staff membersrespectively. The event was successfullyconducted under the guidance of NSSIncharge Mr. Waghmare R.S. and otherNSS Volunteers.
Flood Relief Donation
NSS Unit from Dayanand College of Pharmacyorganized “Kolhapur, Sangli, Kerala FloodRelief Donation” where the entire state ofMaharashtra and Kerala was been rampagedby the torrential rains and landslides sinceAugust 2019. Submerging several villages andcities, the floods have crippled and damagednormal life and services. In such situation NSSvolunteers decided to arrange a fund relieffor those needy peoples and collected fundof 550 rupees from college and donated tothe government of Maharashtra chief relieffund via Google Pay and participated in thisnoble cause. From staff members 1000 rseach has been donated to the flood reliefdonation campaign.

Yuva Mahiti Dhoot
2019NSS Activities
“Yuva Mahiti Dhoot” an awarenessprogram on different governmentschemes, facilities provided through themobile application to the students,businessman, and common peoples wasconducted on 28th of august 2019 by NSSUnit. Among guest Dr.Ajit Mulje andShailesh Tattapure were felicitated by theprincipal Mrs. Satpute K.L and academicincharge Mr. Sonavne S.M respectively.Around 5,122 different governmentschemes information was provided to thestudents by registration through YuvaMahiti Dhoot mobile app.
Blood Donation Camp
On the occasion of World Pharmacist Daydated on 25th of September 2019“BloodDonation Camp” was organized by NSSteam. The event started with welcomingthe chief guest and ribbon cutting by Dr.Dargad J.S Principal Dayanand ScienceCollege, Latur and also by felicting theteam members of Dr.Bhalchandra BloodBank. Separate arrangements were madefor the boys and girls donor. Numbers ofblood donors were ready to donate theirblood and participated in this social cause.In this camp donors donated 350ml ofblood sample. Refreshment was providedsuch as glucose, bananas, tea and biscuits.For these camp 51 donors includingteaching and non-staff members donatedtheir blood.
National Service Scheme Unit of Dayanand College of Pharmacy, Latur organized a free“Free Health Checkup Camp” at Shivli mod, Borfal Taluka Ausa Dist. Latur for the pilgrimswho goes walking to Tuljapur and Renapur road on dated 4th, 5th and 6th of October 2019respectively. Inauguration of the free check-up camp was done by the guest namely Mrs.Satpute K.L (Principal) Dayanand College of Pharmacy, Mr.Yadav Gokul (Sarpanch GramPanchyat Borfal) Mr.Shivaji Surwase(Gram Panchyat Sadasya Borfal).The NSS Volunteersconducted the various check-up tests such as Sugar test, Blood Pressure, Weight for around500 pilgrims and dispensed general medicines to such patients who had suffered minorinjuries or pain during their walk to Tuljapur and Renapur and also provided consultation forgeneral ailments.

Swachta Abhiyan
On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary
week of Mahatma Gandhi“Swachta
Abhiyan” was organized under the
National Service Scheme (NSS unit)on 11th
of October 2019 in collaboration with
Municipal Corporation Latur, within the
campus where all the faculty members,
non-teaching and office staff participated
in the event by taking the cleanliness oath
and prohibition of plastic use and cleaning
the premises. The NSS volunteers
conducted the event by decomposing the
dust, pollens stuffs from the campus. All
staffs actively participated with the
students in this cleaning drive of
“Swachta-HiSeva”.
“Awareness program on
Tuberculosis”
An “Awareness program on
Tuberculosis” was conducted on 15th of
October Among guest Mr.Akash Ghodke,
Vikas More and Pravin Bhalerao were
felicitated by the principal Mrs. Satpute
K.L and Cultural Incharge Mr. Lohiya G.V
and NSS Incharge Mr.Waghmare R.S
respectively. The guest focused on
different diseases in India and various
stats, treatment, facilities for the
betterment and their cure. Later he
classified various upcoming diseases and
their consultation with remedies and
mostly provided the information on
tuberculosis and its awareness.
An “Awareness and demonstration on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation technique”was conducted on 16th of October 2019.The team of anaesthiologist were presentmainly Dr. Kalyani Saturkar, Dr. Anjali Kavthale, and Dr. Varsha Darde from Vivekanand,Mamta and Vaishnavi hospital Latur respectively were present for the demonstration.They were felicitated by the principal Mrs. Satpute K.L, Dr. Chaus W.N and Mr.SonavneS.M respectively. The guest demonstrated the COLS/CPR technique with students andprovided the basic information to save a life due to heart attack in golden hours. Laterthey provided the information on its awareness.
