and see what works best for you. Click ok when you are finished.
4) Now you are going to want to create a new layer. Go up to Layer and select New Layer.
5) Go to Color Selection and choose black Now, select the rectangular Marquee tool and select a portion of
the top of the texture. It is up to you how wide or thin you want this selection to be, but once you have it selected, fill that area with black. Do the same for the bottom.
6) Go back to Color Selection and choose black. Select the Marquee tool again and select an area in the middle of the texture and fill it with white. 7) Next go back up to Filter, down to Blur and then to Motion Blur. I
have the distance set to 55 pixels, but play around with it and see what you like.
8) Go up to Filters, Blur and down to Gaussian Blur. I have my radius set to 33 pixels.
9) Now go over to your layers. Make sure you have the black and white layer selected, then click the drop down tab and select Soft Light.
- Hair - Photoshop - Approx 5 Minutes -
1) First thing you will want to do is open a new document that is 256x256 pixels in size. Then you are going to choose what color you would like your hair to be. For this tutorial, I have chosen brown.
2) Go up to Filter, down to Noise and then click Add Noise. You can have as much or as little noise as you would like. I usually go with around 15% but you can of coarse play with it and see what you like. Click Uniform under Distribution and select ‘ok.’ 3) Next, go back up to Filter, then down to Blur and then to Motion Blur. You will want the angle set at 90. I have the distance set at 570 pixels, but again, you can play with this and see what works for you. Hit ok when you are finished.

4) In the Trigger box, type the word that you would like to be linked to your sound (the sound I have used is someone saying the word ‘you’ so ‘you’ is the word that I have linked to it). Click
Apply Changes. Now if you click on your avatar, the word should appear in the triggers section, and if you click on that word the sound should play.
5) Repeat for however many sounds that you want your product to have.
- Adding Sound to Products - Approx 10Minutes -
1) Go to the shop on the IMVU website and search for Voice Box Derivable. Click Derive from Prod-uct at the bottom of the product information.
2) From the lineup, click on Actions and then +Add.
3) Go down to the +Add .OGG button beneath the Sounds section, and click on it. When the pop-up window opens, go to the folder where you saved your .OGG sound files and select one.
4) In the Trigger box, type the
SPECIAL NOTE- You will need.OGG sound files for this.

- Animating Textures - Photoshop- Approx 10 Minutes -
1) Go to the shop on the IMVU website and find the item that you want to use. For this tutorial, I am going to be animating the *S* Cop Belt by Spirit. Click Derive from Product at the bottom of the product information.
2) Open a 256x256 pixel document in Photoshop. Choose a color and fill the document. Choose another color (the colors I’ve chosen are pink and white) and cover the document with dots (dots are just an example. You can use anything you’d like and you can play with what looks good).
3) Find the slot on the product that you would like to animate (I chose the baton) and put your textur there. Then, go over to the side
where it says Material Parameters. Check off Two Sided, Use Blending, Fog Override, and make sure the blending mode is set to Composite.
4) Under that should be an area called Texture Animation which is the important area. Make sure you have On checked and have entered as follows;Cell Width : 128Cell Height : 128Frames/Cell : 2Numb Cells : 5You can play with these if you want, but you will want the cell width and height to be about half the size of your texture. Set the mode to Cycling. Hit apply changes to see the result.
Another way of cycling texture animation -
1) Create a document in photoshop sized 512x256pixels. Divide the document into 8 different squares and fill them in with different colors/effects.
2) Find the slot on the product that you want
to animate (again, I chose the baton) and put your texture there. Then go over to Material Parameters and check off Two Sided, Use Blending, Fog Override, and make sure the blending mode is set to Composite.
3) Go to the Texture Animation area and make sure ‘On’ is checked. Have these entered as follows;Cell Width : 128Cell Width : 128Frames/Cell : 4Num Cells : 8Set the mode to Cycling and hit apply changes to see the results.
Now for the scrolling animated texture tut...
1) Open a 256x432 pixel document in photoshop. Color horizontal strips different colors.
2) Find the slot on the product that you want to animate (I have chosen K l Jella (F) -Derivable by
KylaUnknown) and put your texture there. Go down to the Material Parameters area and check off Two Sided.
3) Next go to Texture Animation and enter as follows;Cell Width : 256Cell Height : 32Direction Y : 6Frames/Cell : 2Num Cells : 8You can mess around with those numbers if you’d like, but I’ve found those work really well. Also, make sure that you have checked off the On and have set the mode to Scrolling. Hit apply changes to see the results.
