Myra Sayla is a timid, insecure girl in grade six. Her and her brother, Jimmy, started attending a school two or three years ago. She likes to wear her best dresses at school and her best dress is an elegant, sapphire dress. In school, Myra enjoys Social Studies, Spelling, and Health. Jimmy is a little bit dependent of Myra at times, which embarrasses her in front of her peers. When you look at Myra, you see her weary, worn out eyes looking at you with her head bent slightly and a slight hunch. From afar, her dark, oily, gleaming hair looks like a turban since her hair is in heavy coils wrapped on top of her head. She has a long, brooding, smooth face that always looks discreet and melancholy. She resembles a child in a medieval painting, like a small figure carved of wood, for worship and magic, with faces smooth and aged, and meekly, cryptically uncommunicative. Myra is 4 foot 9 and tends to look up at most of her classmates since she is a bit shorter than the rest. The Sayla family owns a fruit store so you can smell the odd, distinct odour from Myra. Myra does not have a strong relationship with the popular kids a school so it is hard for her to fit in. She is constantly ignored by her peers and is unnoticed.
Helen is a sympathetic, caring grade six student who lives just outside of town. She walks to school in her muddy rubber boots, carrying her lunch pail along a rocky, dirt road. If you were to meet Helen, you instantly notice the plenty of freckles on her face, next to her auburn hair carefully braided pigtails that sit so delicately on her shoulders tied with tiny red ribbons. In comparison to her classmates, Helen is the not the tallest but is not also extremely short. Unlike most of her peers, Helen is not afraid to step out of the guidelines of society to help a friend. Her warm-hearted action change the lives of two siblings, Myra and Jimmy Sayla. Her actions set a standard for leadership and compassion for a friend in need. Not only does Helen’s initiatives help the lives of others, but also builds her character. As many others should see, Helen is the perfect role model for people of any age in this world. She’s shows everyone that to follow what you think is right and make choices that come from you, not from others.
