PROGRAMS – June 25 to August 23*The City of Pointe-Claire offers a wide range of cultural, recreational, sports and paddling camps, in a safe and stimulating environment, for children and teens.

CULTURAL CAMPS
| CREATIVE MORNINGS Age: 3 1/2 to 5*
Every morning, children become little creators, discovering artistic forms through playful workshops combining visual arts, creative dance, theatre and music. Workshop themes change every week, making it even more fun.
Stewart Hall Cultural Centre
* Parents with children under the age of 4 must register them in person at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre.
Children must be able to go to the bathroom on their own.
Weeks 5, 6 and 7
| CULTURAL DAY DAMP Age: 6 to 12**
Visual arts, dance, music, and theatre: this camp offers a range of cultural activities, both indoors and out. Kids discover various kinds of creative expression thanks to lively workshops. They're sure to have fun with our talented team of workshop leaders, all specialists in their own field!
Maximum 10 children per group. Children are divided by age group.

CULINARY ARTS
| APPRENTICE COOK CAMP Age: 6 to 12
Children learn how to make healthy and delicious food for the whole family. From healthy snacks to comfort food, they develop useful culinary skills that give them confidence and independence in the kitchen. Environmental awareness is encouraged.
Lunch is included; bring a nut-free snack.
All food allergies must be reported to the Cultural Centre at least four weeks before camp begins.

PERFORMING ARTS
| CIRCUS CAMP Age: 6 to 12
It’s time to get moving with Circus Camp! Object manipulation, balance, gymnastics and clowning: depending on the chosen disciplines, your child will develop strength and abilities, and discover new interests. Kids will love this multidisciplinary art form!
A short performance will be presented to friends and family at the end of each week.Different activities each week.

Through rhythm, movement and choreographies, children develop and improve their artistic expression and dance technique. This dynamic camp will get children moving while enabling them to strengthen their self-esteem as well as their creative potential.

| MAGIC CAMP Age: 6 to 12
Every morning, children begin their day with a brief magic show. Accompanied by a magician, they explore the different aspects of magic such as card manipulation, stage magic, mentalism, micromagic, and much more! They learn to make and modify objects to create that magic effect, successfully perform conjuring tricks, and develop their stage presence.
The young novice magicians will participate in a small performance every Friday. Magic tricks may be repeated from one week to another.

Welcome to the theatre! Young actors develop their skills and interact with those who share the same passion. Depending on the week chosen, children will work on voice projection, singing, stage presence, humour, bodily expression, improvisation, diction, interpretation and character construction.

Children delve into the realm of the visual arts by exploring various exciting techniques such as collage, painting, collagraphy, modeling, engraving and printmaking. They experiment with a variety of creative approaches including watercolor, acrylic, textiles, pastel, and ink on different media.
New techniques and materials will be introduced each week.

| MULTIMEDIA CAMP Age: 6 to 12
An exciting summer camp for those who wish to explore a variety of media including dubbing, stop-motion animation, news bulletins, reporting, special effects, green screens, video editing and a surprise activity as a reward.
Campers will receive their final product on a USB key at the end of camp.

| STOP-MOTION ANIMATION CAMP Age: 8 to 12
Kids create their own animated films! Young filmmakers will discover various techniques used to make animated films. With construction paper and plasticine, they learn to build sturdy characters and sets to tell a story. A unique opportunity to learn more about the secrets of stop-motion animation!

As they become initiated with musical instruments and song, children develop their musical talents and creativity while having fun. By participating in a music ensemble, they also learn the value of playing with other children.

| ECO-EXPLORERS' CAMP Age: 6 to 12
Children will discover biodiversity in a fun atmosphere. As they dive into the worlds of ornithology, entomology and botany, they will learn to identify insects, critters, birds, mammals, trees and plants. They will also partake in challenges through activities focusing on the senses and careers in ecology.

Sports and Recreational Camps
These camps provide all kinds of exciting and recreational activities. Each week has a specific theme.
The City of Pointe-Claire's sports and recreational camps comply with the requirements in the Cadre de référence des camps de jour municipaux of the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ), which defines the best practices to ensure programs provide a safe, quality experience (www.camps.qc.ca).
Activities take place Monday to Friday, according to the following schedule:
Week 1: June 25 to 28 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Quebec’s National Holiday)
Week 2: July 2 to 5 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Canada Day)
Week 3: July 8 to 12
Week 4: July 15 to 19
Week 5: July 22 to 26
Daycare is offered both before and after certain camp activities.
TEEN CAMP Age: 11 to 14*
Different activities are offered: swimming, biking, sports, art workshops and day trips.
A bicycle and a helmet are required.

KIDNETIC CAMP Age: 5 to 12**
The focus is on being healthy and staying in shape. Kids discover new physical activities that they can enjoy. A nutritionist is on hand to answer questions.
Activities include swimming, yoga, hip-hop, nutrition workshops and weekly outings.

TERRA-COTTA NATURE ADVENTURE CAMP Age: 8 to 12*
Campers will be introduced to the local fauna and flora of Pointe-Claire by taking the morning to explore and partake in activities at Terra-Cotta Natural Park alongside an environment specialist. They will then spend the afternoon playing games and sports with a day camp instructor and learning soccer skills with a trainer.

A free drop-in program for kids.
Activities: arts and crafts, inter-park challenges, soccer and ball-hockey tournaments, Le Sablon beach outings, and more.Children are free to come and go as they please. Parents are welcome to join in at all times. For scheduled activities and outings, children must register in the park as soon as the program begins.
This program is for Pointe-Claire residents only.

Paddling Camps
The Nautical Activities Department offers a variety of full-day and half-day camps for children ages 7 to 15. Participants discover water sports while learning about safety on the water in an environment focused on helping each other out and instilling a sense of community.
Paddling camps offer a program adapted for people with disabilities.
Alternative activities are planned for rainy or bad weather days.
Activities take place from Monday to Friday, according to the following schedule:
Week 1: June 25 to 28 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Quebec’s National Holiday)
Week 2: July 2 to 5 (Tuesday to Friday, because of Canada Day)
Week 3: July 8 to 12
Week 4: July 15 to 19
Week 5: July 22 to 26
Week 6: July 29 to August 2
Week 7: August 5 to 9
Week 8: August 12 to 16
Week 9: August 19 to 23 (registration per day)
CANOE KIDS (Full-Day Camp)Group 1: Children who have finished grade 1, 2 or 3
Group 2: Children who have finished grade 4, 5 or 6
Children learn how to paddle and discover various types of canoes and kayaks while learning Open Water Wisdom.

INTRO TO PADDLING CAMP (Half-Day Camp)Age group: Children having finished grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
This camp introduces kids to the sport of canoe kayak as they learn basic paddling techniques and become familiar with various types of watercraft.

TEEN PADDLE (Half-Day Camp)Ages: Teenagers born between 2004 and 2007
Teenage athletes learn basic paddling techniques and discover a range of activities while learning to feel comfortable on the water. A paddling outing is scheduled.

CANOE KAYAK LESSONS: KIDDY CANOE AND CRICKET Kiddy Canoe: Children born between 2012 and 2014
Cricket: Children born between 2009 and 2011
Children learn the rules of open water safety, and how to paddle a canoe or kayak, in a safe and encouraging environment. At the end, they receive a certificate showing they have completed this eight-week program.
Lessons take place once a week.
