BT NGA Progress in UK NBN

DAE (Digital Agenda Europe): • 100% coverage of >30Mbps by 2020 • 50% of households have

subscriptions of >100Mbps by 2020

100% home passed by 2017

90% home passed by 2015

17m home passed by Q3 2013

BT NGA started delivery from late 2009, progress by Q3 2013: • Installed more than 4.5k street cabinets • Achieved 17M home passed • More than 2M connections • More ISPs renting NGA pipe to provide services • More than 100k connections per month

Superfast Broadband plan: Deliver SFBB to at least 90% of premises by 2015 at a minimum of 30Mbps, extending to 100% by 2017 subject to necessary funding

Singapore Open Access Wholesale Service

Key Strategies iDA to fix “NetCo wholesale Price to OpCo” and “NetCo wholesale Price to RSPs”. Different services from different RSPs on the same conduit and on the same device.

RSPs offer services and enroll end subscribers. CPE, such as IAD, STB, RG etc, is offered or provided by RSP.

RSP

OpCo

NetCo

NetCo wholesale Price to RSPs:

• SGD21/Month(Residential)

• SGD75/Month(Non-Residential )

NetCo wholesale Price to OpCo:

• SGD15/Month(Residential)

• SGD50/Month(Non-Residential )

OpCo offer 4 Types Wholesale services

Real Time: Video conference, Gamming

Near Real Time: IPTV, Video Streaming

Mission Critical: ATM, Data Centers ,Control Systems

Best Effort: VOIP, Internet surfing

Allowing OpCo to access Passive network

Fulfilling iDA network coverage plan:60% by 2010,95% by 2012,Universal Service Obligation (USO) from 1 Jan 2013.

Nucleus exclusively award OpCo, which wholly owned subsidiary by StarHub

OpenNet exclusively award NetCo, which SingTel has a 30 per cent stake in
