Finish part 1, p. 63-71

List 3 ways in which Charlie and his life have changed since the surgery. Again, these must be complete sentences. GIVE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES FROM THE STORY! You do not need quotes, but you need to give specific places where we see the change.

Incorrect: Charlie is smarter.

Correct: Charlie is showing he is smarter by spelling things correctly and using correct punctuation.

Write a paragraph about Charlie’s problem and his solution:

What is his main problem when we meet him at the beginning of the story? What does he want, more than anything?

What is the main thing he does in this story to try to solve the problem? Think about the plot of this story. Night school is not his solution in this story.

How well does the solution work? Give specific examples from the text where we see it either work or not work.

How does the solution cause different problems? Give at least one new problem that Charlie experiences with a specific example from the text.

Did Charlie end up getting what he wanted in the end? You have to answer yes OR no, even though you may agree with both answer. Give specific evidence to support your opinion. (At least 5 sentences)

Your paragraph must be at least 7 complete sentences, with a topic sentence (Charlie should/should not have had the operation.) and concluding sentence (For all of these reasons, Charlie should/should not have had the operation.).
