Second Reading

A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans

Do not let your love be a pretence but sincerely prefer good to evil. Love each other as much as brothers and sisters should, and have a profound respect for each other. Work for the Lord with untiring effort and with great earnest-ness of spirit. If you have hope, this will make you cheerful. Do not give up if trials come, and keep on praying. If any of the saints are in need you must share with them, and you should make hospitality your special care. Bless those who persecute you: never curse them, bless them. Rejoice with those who rejoice and be sad with those in sor-row. but make real friends with the poor. Do not allow yourself to become self-satisfied. Never repay evil with evil but let every-one see that you are interested only in the highest ideals. Do all you can to live at peace with everyone.

in the faith, hope and love the Spirit gives.

1. Lord, we pray for our families. In particular, we thank you for our parents, we ask you to bless them for the love they have given us down the years. Keep them in good health and happiness.

2. Lord, we pray for all who work in our school, for the teachers and all the staff. We would like to thank them for their guidance and sup-port throughout these memorable years.

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each one of us is special. Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you. Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is mean-ingless. Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life. Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is re-ally over until the moment you stop trying. Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. This fragile thread binds us to each other. Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is taking chances that we learn to be brave. Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find. wings. Don’t rush through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been but also where you’re going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.
