About us David Spencer-HR Consulting Limited is a provider of HR and employee relations services directed by David Spencer BA FCIPD and assisted by a number of HR and specialist Associates. Since 2006 the consultancy has supported businesses in the automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, construction, financial services, manufacturing, packaging and retail sectors and in public services. Details of the various companies we have worked with are set out below. David Spencer is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD) and a Member of the Institute of Directors. He has been a Non-Judicial Member of the Employment Tribunal since 1995.

Support to employers - ‘what we do…’

The Consultancy offers a wide range of services in the following areas:

These are some of our assignments, with extracts from the testimonials offered by our clients:

A FTSE 100 organisation required employee relations support to close its aerospace business in Cumbria. The project was particularly sensitive, given the relocation of a proportion of the work to Europe and the long service of many employees in an area with few employment prospects. The site was actively represented by Unite.

The Consultancy assisted with the planning of the project and undertook consultations with the Union’s National Officers. Following the closure announcement, the Consultancy worked with the local Management Team to structure the closure programme, compile and negotiate severance terms and manage individual employee needs. The Managing Director commented: “We found David Spencer to be practical in his approach, very knowledgeable on all aspects of employment law and industrial relations and very capable of building effective relationships throughout the organisation.” _______________________ A global engineering business, operating in the power and oil & gas sectors, was faced with serious commercial and funding issues in early 2012. David Spencer was one of three specialists appointed to drive a business turnaround and embed this, over a two year period. This resulted in a return to sustainable profitability, a 50% increase in sales revenue and a fivefold increase in share price. A previously government-funded training company, with multiple locations, faced a need to re-align its UK resources and become commercially self-sufficient. The consultancy assisted with a restructuring and transition plan, working with the Management Team over a five months’ period to successfully re-engineer the organisation. The Head of Human Resources commented: “On the basis of David’s consultancy work … we have no hesitation in recommending his services to you, in particular his expertise in the management of employee relations.
