He r coun- terpart, Muriel, refuses to speak and will only com- municate by writing- Her most recent appearance w as as Dorothy in the Amil Teller production of "The Wizard of Oz." Ferguson first becam e in- terested m drama through Encore Theater's production of "Look Hom eward Angel," in which he portrayed a 16- year-old Southerner. For this p e r f or m a n c e he aged 30 years and lost his Southern accent to develop the role of Alan- ha s a parent problem.
