Briefly review David’s story-especially God’s covenant with David (the notes are above) then read Luke 1:31-33

God makes several Covenants with people in the Old Testament. One of those people is David. What part of God’s covenant with David is fulfilled in the Luke reading?

Why do you think it is important for us to know how God fulfilled his covenants?

Covenant means an agreement, a contract, or a promise. The New Testament also talks about a New Covenant which God makes with each of us. This new covenant changes the way the we relate to God-through the call of the Spirit and Christ’s death and resurrection, we can have eternal life. We can be confident in God’s forgiveness of sins because we know that He is faithful to His Covenants.
