Davenport Elementary School School Board Report, June 2019 End of the Year Fun! The school year came to a close on Thursday, June 13, 2019. There were many smiles, some tears, excitement, and at the end of the day students left and we all hope they will have a wonderful, safe summer! The end of the year is alway bittersweet with student work coming off of walls, the halls quiet, and nothing left but grants/reports to do! Overall, 2019-20 was a PHENOMENAL year at Davenport Elementary School. This year we focused on improving attendance (we did a bit, but found we may need some help with this), decreased oce discipline referrals (we denitely did this!), and as always, worked to improve our instruction and test scores. We also had a lot of fun together, and grew as a Gorilla Family. Some highlights from the end of the year included eld trips to Mobius, Grand Coulee Dam, Sorensen's Farm, lunches in the park, Field Day, Pre-K celebration, Kindergarten graduation, Gorilla Pride Leader slime party, Grad Walk, etc. Students learned and had a lot of fun! As we look for the next year, we will rene our practice, continue to increase rigor, continue to build positive relationships with our students and their families, and work on continuing to provide a quality education for all. Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to continue to serve the students and staff of Davenport! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me! Sincerely, Courtney Strozyk, Principal
