DAV Hosts Capacity Building Programmes

At the initiative of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, New Delhi, Capacity Building

Programmes in the subjects of Social Science and Science were conducted at DAV Public

School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana on 01-06-2017 and 02-06-2017. About 70 teachers from

various DAV schools attended the workshops.

The resource persons for Social Science workshop were Mrs. Kavita Anand, Ms. Navneet

Sidhu, Ms. Davinderjeet Kaur and Ms. Riya Upadhaya.

The Master Trainers for Science Workshop were Mrs. Malwinder Kaur Gill and Mr. Rakesh

Sharma.

The training programmes aimed at discussing the syllabus, making of e-lesson plans,

imparting value education while teaching S.St and Science, making of value based questions

and revision lessons to improve learners’ achievements. The delegates participated whole-

heartedly as the resource persons conducted the interactive sessions. They were asked to

prepare question papers on Bloom’s Taxonomy. Brainstorming session on ‘How to handle

stress’ was also taken up very effectively by the Master Trainers. Useful revision activities

and strategies, mind-mapping, revision assignments and essential map-skills were discussed at

length with the help of PPTS and hands- on activities. The delegates participated

enthusiastically and sought answers to their queries.

The Principal of the school Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the master trainers and the delegates and

said that such re-skilling sessions go a long way in adding to the teachers’ arsenal of effective

methodologies.
