At our Annual School Council Meeting on Wednesday, 15 th March, our new team for 2017 will be confirmed along with the Leadership positions of Council for the 2017 School Year. School Picnic 2017 On behalf of the school community I’d like to thank everyone for their efforts on Friday in making our annual school picnic such an enjoyable and successful event. Once again we are indebted to a number of people who go out of their way to ensure the success of such events – the many helpers who cooked, served and cleaned up, to those who ordered the sausages, bread, corn and fruit and ensured it was there, to all the families who participated in the event, to the staff for their efforts on the day and especially to all of our students who did such a great job throughout the day. Over 630 people attended and were catered for. Thank you to everyone, without your ongoing support and assistance such events could not take place. The weather was again kind to us, in fact perfect weather for a stroll along the beach and building sand sculptures in the morning. The sun peeped through at lunchtime while everyone enjoyed lunch and getting warmer for the main event – a little paddle in the water before packing up to go home, (though some teachers might have believed the water could have been a little warmer for us!!). Thumbs Up

To Danielle and the Lang Family for donating all of the sausages for the whole school picnic – greatly appreciated by everyone.

To the Stokkel, Eager, Smith, Cartmel, King and Bowman Families for all their efforts prior to and during the School Picnic – great effort from one and all.

To everyone who assisted in one way or another in making Friday’s picnic such a success – the school is indeed indebted to you.

To all the students who represented our school so proudly at the swimming sports on Monday. A great effort by one and all.

To all the parents, grandparents, staff and friends who braved the weather conditions and supported the students in their endeavours at the Swimming Sports. Great job!

To our ‘chickens’ who have returned from their summer vacation to enjoy the company of everyone at school. A couple are still on holiday and we have a couple of new additions.

To the Grade 6 boys who did such a great job in putting the shelving together for our new sports storeroom and to Mason in Foundation for helping in putting the containers together. Well done, everyone!

To the Neutze, Cormick-Cox and Tankard families for their donations to the Art Room. Thank you!

areas throughout the week at assembly.

Anaphylaxis and Asthma Plans Need to be updated All parents and guardians are reminded that if your child/ren has an Anaphylaxis or Asthma

Plan that you need to have this updated annually by your GP and then forward a copy to

your child’s teacher or the office. Your prompt attention to this matter will be greatly

appreciated and will assist the school greatly in its management of your child if an asthma

attack or anaphylaxis episode occurs at school.

Student Medication If you completed a Medication Request Form last year for your child/ren and wish to continue having medication kept at school the Department of Education requires you to complete a new Medication Request Form. The Medication Request Form is available at the Office. Medication cannot be given to students without this form being completed. We are unable to give students medication that is past its expiry date so please come into the office and check if the medication we hold for your child is still within its expiry date. Medication to treat asthma or anaphylaxis does not need to be accompanied by a Medication Request Form as it is covered by a student’s Asthma Care Plan or Action Plan for Anaphylaxis.

2018 Foundation Enrolments With the 2017 Preps settling in, it is time to start planning our 2018 intake!

If you have a pre-school child who will begin Foundation at Cardinia Primary School in

2018, could you please visit the office as soon as possible to ensure we have your

child’s details?

Please do not assume we know your child will be attending our school. With so many

new families, it is a huge job to keep track of all possible future Foundation student’s.

You will need to provide the office with your current email address as well as your

pre-school child’s full name, date of birth and the name of the kindergarten she/he

currently attends.

A 2018 enrolment form will then be given to you and these are due back fully

completed by the end of Term 1. Rest assured that all siblings of current students will

be given a place for Foundation, 2018. However, we do need your details to confirm

your child’s place.

Please see Allan or Jodie if you have any questions regarding the 2018 Prep Enrolment

procedure.

Swimmers that won events will qualify for this event and will receive a permission form shortly. Winners and placegetters from finals are listed below. THANK YOU

A huge thank you to all our Parent and grandparent helpers (too
