Paying more attention to the present moment – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you – can improve your mental wellbeing. Some people call this awareness "mindfulness". Mindfulness can help us enjoy life more and understand ourselves better. You can take steps to develop it in your own life; here, at Ladybridge, we are teaching children the art of mindfulness in our lunchtime clubs. The aim is to give our pupils some tools they can use anytime: tools to calm down, slow down and feel better when they are troubled. Mrs Hall, who runs our KS1 mindfulness club says, “It’s a time for children to relax. We have fun together performing yoga to stories and chill out with mindfulness colouring activities. Take a look at some of our yoga poses. It’s great for improving our health, growing confidence and getting an even a better night’s sleep; you’d be surprised just how much we benefit! When children master the art of mindfulness, it can positively change the way they see themselves and their lives. What a change our world would experience within just one generation if every child learned this skill! Mr Watson, Headteacher

Thank You – it was Spooktacular! Your support at last night’s Halloween disco

was spooktacular. Judging by the ghoulish and bewitching costumes, shaking bones on the

dance floor and happy faces, everyone had a frighteningly good time! We will let you know

what we raised in due course.

PTFA Meeting Our next meeting is on:

Wednesday, 8th November at 6:30pm in the Studio (Labracadabra’s room). It

would be great to see some new faces. We will be planning our Christmas events.

Poppies and remembrance gifts are available to pupils as from Monday, 6th November. Suggested donations: Poppies

20p; wristbands, reflectors, friendship bracelets 50p;

snap bands £1.

Scholastic Book Club leaflets are coming home. The order deadline is 17th November.

Class Focus: 3L

In 3L, we have been learning all about the Austrian symbolist painter, Gustav Klimt. We have critiqued his drawings, written him a biography, and then made our own drawings, in his style. It’s been great fun and we have been inspired by his work!.Well done 3L!

Each week, we will focus on work undertaken by a different class. This week it’s the turn of 3L…

Year 5 – We’ve Got Styal! Year 5 went to Styal Quarry Bank Mill this week. They learned about the lives of children who worked in the cotton mill… and some of them even

dressed up as a Victorian. Don’t they look fantastic!

Dinner Money The cost of School Dinners is £7 per week

or £56 for the Half Term up until Christmas. Please ensure you do let your

account go into arrears. Thank you.

Year 2: Fireworks As part of their learning about Guy

Fawkes and the Gun Powder Plot, Year 2 pupils are watching a firework display on Wednesday, 8th November. Please ensure they have warm outer wear on

this day. Sorry: For children only!

Lily is justly proud of her amazing artwork

The judges were amazed by Julia’s (6L)

bewitching outfit! →
