SPTE SERVICE LEVEL COMMITMENT FIRST SCOTRAIL FRANCHISE Issued May 2011 1. DEFINITIONS

In this Part 1B of Schedule 1.1 the following definitions shall apply, except to the extent that the context otherwise requires:

“Christmas” has the meaning ascribed to that term in paragraph 2.7; “Connection” means a connection (however described) between any of the Passenger Services provided by the Franchise Operator and any other railway passenger service provided by it or any other passenger train operator or any bus, ferry or shipping service and where reference is made to a time period in relation to a Connection this refers to a waiting period for such Connection;

“Journey Time” means the time in the Timetable to be taken by a service in travelling between the specified departure point and specified destination for that service; “Off-Peak Periods” has the meaning ascribed to that term in paragraph 2.3; “Peak Periods” has the meaning ascribed to that term in paragraph 2.2; “Summer Services” has the meaning ascribed to that term in paragraph 2.4; “Weekday” means any day other than a Saturday or Sunday; and “Winter Services” has the meaning ascribed to that term in paragraph 2.5.

2. GENERAL PROVISIONS AND CONSTRUCTION 2.1 Days and Times of day

2.1.1 For the purposes of this Part 1B of Schedule 3 only and except to the extent the context otherwise requires, references to a day mean the period commencing at 0200 on one day and ending at 0159 on the following day and references to Weekdays and particular days of the week shall be construed accordingly.

2.1.2 References to periods of times and periods of days in this Part 1B of Schedule 3

include the times and days such periods start and finish. 2.1.3 All references to time are to the twenty-four hour clock.

2.2 Peak Periods: means, except as otherwise provided, those Weekday periods between

0730 and 0930 in terms of arrivals at Glasgow or Paisley Gilmour Street (“the Morning Peak”) and between 1600 and 1800 in terms of departures from Glasgow or Paisley Gilmour Street (“the Evening Peak”) and references to “Peak”, “Morning Peak” and “Evening Peak” periods shall be construed accordingly. In this definition, Glasgow shall include the following stations, namely: Glasgow Central (High Level and Low Level), Glasgow Queen Street (High Level and Low Level), Argyle Street, High Street.

2.3 Off-Peak Periods: means those times of day which are not Peak Periods. 2.4 Summer Services: except where otherwise specified by the PTE, means those services

in the period in any calendar year from the Sunday within the Spring Glasgow Public Holiday weekend in late May until the Sunday within the Autumn Glasgow Public Holiday weekend in September, both Sundays inclusive

2.5 Winter Services: those services provided in any period of a calendar year, which are

outside the parameters specified in Paragraph 2.4. 2.6 Christmas: There is no requirement to provide a service on 25 December and on 1

January. The service to be operated on 24 and 26 to 31 December inclusive and on 2 January, shall be as specified, unless otherwise agreed between the PTE and the Franchise Operator.

2.7 Service Intervals

2.7.1 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to operate trains at equal intervals at the frequencies specified for each route or service and at the same minutes past each hour. The Franchise Operator must seek the approval of the PTE to reduce any interval between any two trains or to increase any interval by more than three minutes.

2.7.2 Except where expressly indicated to the contrary, where an interval or frequency

is specified for a service, such specification shall apply at the departure point for the relevant service.

2.7.3 Except where expressly indicated to the contrary, all services are to run in both

directions and the requirements of this Part 1B of Schedule 3 (including interval between services, frequency of service or stopping pattern) are to apply in each direction.

2.8 Even Headways: Where journey opportunities are provided between any pair of stations

by more than one service, the Franchise Operator shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure that even headways between successive trains between such stations are provided.

2.9 Depot Journeys: Where trains travel to or from depots or stabling points before or after

operating services, specified in this Part 1B of Schedule 3, the Franchise Operator shall use reasonable endeavours to run such journeys in passenger service, calling at all such stations as are appropriate for the line of route, between the termination point of the specified journey and the access to the depot or stabling point.

2.10 Connections

2.10.1 Where there is a possibility of interchange between services, the Franchise Operator shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure the minimum delay to through passengers.

2.10.2 Except where expressly indicated to the contrary, where Connections are

required to be provided by the Franchise Operator, it shall ensure that the interval or waiting period between the two relevant services is of a sufficient duration to allow passengers a reasonable period of time to transfer between the two relevant services.

2.10.3 Where services are required to be or may be provided by Connections, the

maximum journey times specified shall not apply. 2.11 Journey Times: The Franchise Operator shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure

that journey times for trains calling at all specified stations will be equivalent to the minimum journey times prevailing in the current timetable. Where limited stop trains are provided, the minimum journey times for such trains should be reduced accordingly.

2.12 Early Service: means the service which arrives at it’s destination at or before the time

specified in each route. 2.13 Late Service: means the service which departs from the specified departure point at or

after the time specified in each route.

2.14 Operating Hours: The latest acceptable time of the departure of the first train and the earliest acceptable time of departure of the last train each day shall be as specified for each service.

2.15 Headings: All headings used in Route Services 1 to 15 below, shall form part of the Passenger Service Requirement.

2.16 Priced Option: Costed Options delivered under Schedule 3 of the Franchise Agreement.

2.17 Funded Services: Rail services funded by a Third Party and operated by the Franchise

Operator. 3. PASSENGER SERVICE REQUIREMENT The Franchise Operator shall include the following services in the Timetable.

Glasgow Central to Cathcart Circle, Neilston and Newton 6. Glasgow Queen Street– Cumbernauld (with extensions to Falkirk Grahamston) 7. Glasgow Queen Street to Anniesland and Arrochar & Tarbet 8. Glasgow Central – Paisley Canal 9. Glasgow Central – Whifflet 10. Glasgow Central – East Kilbride 11. Glasgow Central – Barrhead 12. Glasgow Central – Carstairs 13. Motherwell – Cumbernauld Service 1a. Glasgow– Balloch, Helensburgh Central and Milngavie (North Clyde Line - West) Services on the North Clyde Line West operate through Glasgow (High Street and Queen Street on the North Electric Line). (Airdrie to Bathgate through services are contained in a separate SLC – Service Group to be amended following full introduction of the Airdrie to Bathgate timetable). 1. Service Pattern – Glasgow Queen Street to Helensburgh Central via Yoker – Monday to Friday

1.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Helensburgh Central calling at Charing Cross,

Partick, Hyndland, Dalmuir, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. 1.2 One train arriving at Helensburgh Central before 0730 shall also call at Garscadden. Two services arriving at Glasgow Queen Street between 0815 and 0900 shall call additionally at Bowling and Kilpatrick. The first of these services shall also call at Clydebank.

1.3 Between 1820 and the late services all journeys between Helensburgh Central and Glasgow Queen Street shall also call at Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank.

1.4 Two additional services shall be provided from Helensburgh Central to Glasgow Queen Street arriving between 0840 and 0855. The first arrival shall call at Craigendoran, Cardross, Dumbarton Central, Scotstounhill, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross. The second arrival shall call at Craigendoran, Cardross, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central, Dumbarton East, Dalmuir, Singer, Drumry, Drumchapel, Westerton, Anniesland, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross.

1.5 Between 1700 and 1725 there shall be two additional services from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level to Helensburgh Central. The first of these services shall call at Charing Cross, Partick, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. The second service shall call at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry, Singer, Dalmuir, Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. 1.6 One additional service shall be provided departing Dalmuir between 0630 and 0700 calling at Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. 2. Service Pattern - Glasgow Queen Street to Helensburgh – Saturdays and Sundays 2.1 On Saturday a half hourly service, including Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Helensburgh Central calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Dalmuir, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross, and Craigendoran.

2.2 On Saturday all services arriving/departing Glasgow Queen Street after 1825 shall call additionally at Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank.

2.3 On Saturday additional services shall be provided as specified in paragraph 1.6. 2.4 On Sunday a half hourly service, including Early and Late services, shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Helensburgh Central calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry, Singer, Dalmuir, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. 2.5 On Sunday one additional service shall be provided departing Helensburgh Central

between 2245 and 2300 to Dalmuir calling at Craigendoran, Cardross, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central and Dumbarton East. 2.6 On Sunday one additional service shall be provided from Dalmuir to Glasgow Queen Street calling at Singer, Drumry, Drumchapel, Westerton, Anniesland, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross, departing Dalmuir no later than 0800. 3. Service Pattern - Glasgow Queen Street to Balloch via Singer - Monday to Friday 3.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Balloch via Singer calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry, Singer, Dalmuir, Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton and Alexandria. There may be one interval of 60 minutes between arrivals in the Morning Peak Period and one interval of 60 minutes between departures in the Evening Peak Period.

3.2 One additional service shall be provided arriving at Glasgow Queen Street between 0815 and 0845. This service shall call at Alexandria, Renton, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central, Partick and Charing Cross.

3.3 Between 1715 and 1745 one additional service shall be provided from Glasgow Queen Street to Balloch. This service shall call at Charing Cross, Partick, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton and Alexandria.

3.4 The first service from Glasgow Queen Street may operate via Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker, Clydebank, Dalmuir, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton, Alexandria and Balloch.

3.5 One additional service shall be provided after 2300 from Balloch to Dalmuir calling at Alexandria, Renton, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central, Dumbarton East, Bowling and Kilpatrick. 3.6 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Queen Street to Balloch, departing no earlier than 2350 on Friday calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry, Singer, Dalmuir, Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton and Alexandria. 4. Service Pattern - Glasgow Queen Street to Balloch via Singer - Saturdays 4.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between

Glasgow Queen Street and Balloch via Singer calling at the stations specified in paragraph 3.1.

4.2 The Early Service from Glasgow shall operate via the route defined in paragraph 3.4. 4.3 One additional services shall be provided from Balloch as specified in Paragraph 3.5.

5. Service Pattern - Glasgow Central to Balloch via Yoker - Sundays 5.1 A half hourly service including the Early and Late Services shall be provided between

Glasgow and Balloch via Yoker calling at Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker, Clydebank, Dalmuir, Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton and Alexandria.

5.2 Two additional services shall depart Yoker between 0830 and 0915 at an interval of 30

minutes, and call at all stations to Balloch from Yoker as specified in paragraph 5.1. 5.3 Two additional services shall be provided after 2230 and call at all stations as specified

in paragraph 3.5. From Dalmuir the services shall also call at Clydebank. 5.4 One additional service shall be provided from Dalmuir to Glasgow Central calling at

Clydebank, Yoker, Garscadden, Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick and Exhibition Centre, departing Dalmuir no later than 0810.

6. Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Milngavie - Monday to Friday 6.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow Central and Milngavie calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Bearsden and Hillfoot. 6.2 A half hourly service shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Milngavie, from the morning peak through to the evening peak, calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Bearsden and Hillfoot. The second departure from Milngavie may operate to Glasgow Central instead of Glasgow Queen Street calling at Exhibition Centre and Anderston after Partick. 6.3 One additional service from Milngavie shall arrive at Glasgow Queen Street between 0830 and 0845 calling at Hillfoot, Bearsden and Charing Cross only. 6.4 The arrivals and departure between Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street and Milngavie in paragraph 1.6, and the first part of 6.2 will provide a 15 minute service from the morning peak through to the evening peak. 6.5 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Milngavie, departing no earlier than 2355 on Friday calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Bearsden and Hillfoot. 7. Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Milngavie – Saturday and Sundays 7.1 On Saturday a half hourly service including the Early and Late Services shall be

provided between Glasgow Central and Milngavie calling at all stations specified in paragraph 6.1.

7.2 On Saturday a half hourly service shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Milngavie from 0930 until 1815 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 6.2.

7.3 Paragraph 7.1 and 7.2 combined shall provide a 15 minute service at Glasgow from 0915 until 1815.

7.4 On Sunday a half hourly service, including the Early and Late services, shall be provided

between Glasgow Central and Milngavie calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 6.1. There may be one interval of one hour permitted before 1030 from Glasgow departures.

8. Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Dalmuir via Yoker – Monday to Friday 8.1 A half hourly service between 0730 and 1820 shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Dalmuir via Yoker calling at Charing Cross, Partick, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank. 8.2 Two trains per hour shall be provided from Dalmuir to Glasgow Central between 0620 until 1755, and,from Glasgow Central and Dalmuir between 0645 to 1820 calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank. When combined with the services specified in paragraph 8.1 this shall provide a 15 minute interval service from the morning peak through to the evening peak. 8.3 Between 0600 and 0615 there shall be an additional arrival at Glasgow Queen Street from Dalmuir calling at all stations via Yoker as specified in paragraph 8.1. 8.4 Two additional services shall be provided from Garscadden to Glasgow Central. The first of which shall arrive between 0610 and 0625 and the second service shall arrive between 0630 and 0645. These services shall call at Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick, Exhibition Centre and Anderston.

8.5 Two additional services shall be provided between 0600 and 0620 from Garscadden to Glasgow Queen Street calling at Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross. 8.6 A further two additional services shall be provided between 0645 and 0720 from Garscadden to Glasgow Queen Street calling at Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross. 8.7 Two additional services shall be provided departing Glasgow Queen Street between 1820 and 1910 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 8.1 to Garscadden. 9 Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Dalmuir via Yoker - Saturdays

9.1 A half hourly service shall be provided between Glasgow Queen Street and Dalmuir via

Yoker between 0905 and 1805. After Partick calling at Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden,Yoker and Clydebank.

9.2 Between 0600 and 0615 there shall be one additional arrival at Glasgow from Dalmuir

calling at stations as specified in paragraph 8.1. 9.3 Two trains per hour shall be provided from Dalmuir to Glasgow Central between 0620

until 1755 and, from Glasgow Central to Dalmuir between 0645 until 1820 calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank. When combined with services specified in paragraph 9.1 this shall provide a 15 minute interval service.

9.4 Two additional services shall be provided departing Garscadden between 0555 and

0630 to Glasgow Central calling at Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick, Exhibition Centre and Anderston.

9.5 Two additional services shall be provided departing Garscadden for Glasgow Queen

Street. One service shall depart between 0600 and 0630 and the other service between 0830 and 0900. These services shall call at Scotstounhill, Jordanhill, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross.

9.6 One additional service shall be provided as specified in paragraph 8.5.

10 Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Dalmuir via Singer - Monday to Friday 10.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between

Glasgow Central and Dalmuir calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry and Singer.

10.2 One additional service shall be provided between Dalmuir and Glasgow Queen Street arriving between 0630 and 0645 calling at Singer, Drumry, Drumchapel, Westerton, Anniesland, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross.

11 Service Pattern – Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street to Dalmuir via Singer – Saturdays 11.1 A half hourly service including the Early and Late Services shall be provided between

Glasgow Central and Dalmuir via Singer calling at stations specified in paragraph 10.1. 11.2 One additional service shall be provided between Dalmuir and Glasgow Queen Street

arriving between 0630 and 0645 calling at Singer, Drumry, Drumchapel, Westerton, Anniesland, Hyndland, Partick and Charing Cross.

11.3 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Dalmuir, departing no

earlier than 0005 on Saturday calling at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick, Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton, Drumchapel, Drumry and Singer.

12 Service Pattern – Miscellaneous provisions - Sundays 12.1 On the four pre Christmas Shopping Sundays between 0900 and 1800 or other times as

may be agreed with the Scottish Ministers, additional services shall operate between Glasgow and Dalmuir via Singer to increase frequency to four trains per hour in conjunction with the half hourly service defined in paragraph 2.4.

12.2 On the four pre Christmas Shopping Sundays between 0900 and 1800 or other times as may be agreed with the Scottish Ministers, all reasonable endeavours shall be made to provide additional services between Glasgow and Dalmuir via Yoker. These will increase the frequency to four trains per hour in conjunction with half hourly services as specified in paragraph 5.1.

services are used. 15. Service Pattern – Miscellaneous Route provisions

15.1 Services between Partick and Glasgow that service the Queen Street line ensure that an interval of 15 minutes is provided. 15.2 On Monday to Fridays there may be one exception of 26 minutes and one of 17 minutes before 0645, eight exception of 17 minutes and one exception of 22 minutes after 1900 for departures from Glasgow Queen Street.

15.3 On Saturdays there may be one exception of 26 minutes before 0645, four exceptions of up to 17 minutes before 0930, eight exceptions of 17 minutes and one exception of 22 minutes after 1900 for departures from Glasgow Queen Street. There shall be eleven exceptions of 21 minutes after 1800 for arrivals at Glasgow Queen Street.

15.4 Services between Partick and Glasgow that serve the Argyle Line ensure that an interval of 20 minutes is provided. 15.5 On Monday to Friday during the school term, a service will be provided from Clydebank to Kilpatrick between 1530 and 1550 for the conveyance of school children only. 15.6 Services arriving at Partick from Glasgow as specified in this sub section shall continue to:-

(i) Dalmuir via Yoker calling at Hyndland, Jordanhill, Scotstounhill, Garscadden, Yoker and Clydebank.

(ii) Dalmuir via Singer calling at Hyndland, Anniesland, Westerton,

Drumchapel, Drumry and Singer. (iii) Milngavie calling at Hyndland, Westerton, Bearsden and Hillfoot. (iv) Balloch calling at Dalmuir, Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East,

Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Renton and Alexandria. ** (v) Helensburgh Central calling at Dalmuir, Dumbarton East,

Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross and Craigendoran. **

1.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Drumgelloch calling at Partick, Charing Cross, Glasgow Queen Street Low Level, High Street, Bellgrove, Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill, Easterhouse, Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside, Coatdyke, Airdrie and Drumgelloch. An interval of 42 minutes is permitted after 2300 on Monday to Thursday only.

1.2 These services may be provided by through trains from the North Clyde Line. (West Section.) 1.3 Between the Early Service and 1815 the service shall be increased to a 15 minute interval service between Glasgow Queen Street and Airdrie calling at Bellgrove, Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill, Easterhouse, Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside and Coatdyke. Two of these services shall serve Drumgelloch at half hourly intervals subject to paragraph 1.4. 1.4 Three additional services from Glasgow Queen Street shall be provided to Airdrie at 30 minute intervals between 1615 and 1745 calling only at Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside and Coatdyke. For these services there shall be a maximum journey time of 21 minutes from High Street. 1.5 Before 0600 there shall be one additional arrival at High Street from Drumgelloch calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.1.

1.6 Before 0630 there shall be one additional arrival at High Street from Airdrie calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.1.

1.7 Between 0735 and 0915 there shall be three additional arrivals at High Street at half hourly intervals from Airdrie calling at Coatdyke, Coatbridge Sunnyside and Blairhill. For these services there shall be a maximum journey time of 18 minutes. One of these services may originate from Drumgelloch in place of one departure in the standard sequence, provided that this shall not cause an interval of more than 45 minutes.

1.8 On Monday to Friday during the school term, a service will be provided from Blairhill to Garrowhill between 1540 and 1555 for the conveyance of school children only. 1.9 An additional service shall be provided every week day from Glasgow Queen Street to Drumgelloch departing no earlier than 2325. The service shall call at High Street, Bellgrove,Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill, Easterhouse, Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside, Coatdyke and Airdrie. 1.10 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Queen Street to Drumgelloch, (extended from Yoker) departing no earlier than 2355 on Monday to Friday. The service shall call at High Street, Bellgrove, Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill, Easterhouse, Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside, Coatdyke and Airdrie. 2. Service Pattern – Drumgelloch Line Services – Saturdays 2.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided as specified in paragraph 1.1.

2.2 An additional half hourly service between 0910 and 1830 in both directions shall be provided calling at all stations. The service may terminate/ start at Airdrie. 2.3 For the services specified in paragraph 2.1, 2.2 and 5.1 there shall be a maximum interval between trains at High Street of 17 minutes Westbound. An interval of 20 minutes is permitted between 1815 and 1840 Eastbound. 2.4 One additional service from Airdrie shall depart no later than 0600 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.1.

2.5 Before 0615 one additional service shall arrive at Glasgow from Drumgelloch calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.1. 2.6 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Queen Street to Drumgelloch, (extended from Yoker) departing no earlier than 2355 on Saturday. The service shall call at High Street, Bellgrove, Carntyne, Shettleston, Garrowhill, Easterhouse, Blairhill, Coatbridge Sunnyside, Coatdyke and Airdrie. 3. Service Pattern – Drumgelloch Line Services – Sundays 3.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided as specified in paragraph 1.1. 4. Service Pattern – Springburn Line Services - Monday to Friday 4.1. A half hourly service, including Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Springburn calling at Partick, Charing Cross, Glasgow Queen Street Low Level, Bellgrove, Duke Street, Alexandra Parade, Barnhill and Springburn.

4.2. These services may be provided by through trains from the North Clyde Line. (West Section) 4.3 One interval of 35 minutes may be allowed in arrivals at Glasgow and one interval of 42 minutes in departures from Glasgow. 4.4 One additional service may be provided from High Street between 0800 and 0900. 4.5 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Queen Street to Springburn, departing no earlier than 2340 on Friday calling at High Street, Bellgrove, Duke Street, Alexandria Parade and Barnhill.

5. Service Pattern – Springburn Line Services – Saturday

9. Service Pattern – Miscellaneous provisions for Sundays 9.1 On the four pre Christmas Shopping Sundays between 0900 and 1800 or other times as may be agreed with the Scottish Ministers, additional services shall operate between Glasgow Queen Street and Airdrie calling at all stations. This shall increase the frequency to four trains per hour in conjunction with the half hourly service specified in paragraph 3. 9.2 On the four pre Christmas Shopping Sundays between 0900 and 1800 or other times as may be agreed with the Scottish Ministers, reasonable endeavours will be made to provide a half hourly service between Glasgow Queen Street and Springburn calling at all stations. Service 2. Glasgow to Larkhall, Motherwell, Coatbridge and Lanark (Argyle Line) 1. Route Definitions 1.1. Glasgow. All services shall be formed from trains originating at Partick and calling at Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central and Argyle Street, except that one service in the Morning Peak Period and three in the Evening Peak Period shall originate from Anderston. 1.2. These services may be provided by through trains from the North Clyde Line. (West Section) 1.3. Hamilton Circle via Bellshill. Services from Glasgow Central via Bellshill shall continue to Motherwell calling at Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Uddingston, Bellshill and Motherwell. 1.4 Lanark services via Shieldmuir. Services from Glasgow Central specified in paragraph 1.3 may continue to Lanark from Motherwell calling at Shieldmuir, Wishaw and Carluke. Services which do not continue to Lanark may return to Glasgow via Hamilton. 1.5 Hamilton Circle via Blantyre. Services from Glasgow Central via Blantyre shall continue to Motherwell calling at Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Airbles and Motherwell. 1.6 Lanark services via Holytown. Services from Glasgow Central specified in paragraph 1.5 may continue to Lanark from Motherwell calling at Holytown, Wishaw and Carluke. Services which do not continue to Lanark may continue to Coatbridge Central or may return to Glasgow Central via Bellshill. 1.7 Coatbridge Central. 2. Service Pattern – Glasgow Central to Larkhall, Motherwell, Coatbridge and Lanark Monday to Friday 2.1 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Motherwell (Hamilton Circle) via Bellshill calling at Partick, Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Uddingston, Bellshill and Motherwell.

2.1.1 One service arriving between 0815 and 0830 terminates at Anderston. 2.1 2 After the Early Service, an additional service shall be provided from Motherwell to Glasgow, arriving between 0740 and 0750, calling at the stations specified in paragraph 2.1.

2.1 3 In the evening peak one interval of 41 minutes is allowed between services from Glasgow Central Low Level.

2.1.4 One interval of 60 minutes is allowed for services to Glasgow Central between 1815 and 1920. 2.1.5 An additional service to Glasgow Central arriving between 1820 and 1910 shall originate at Coatbridge Central calling at Whifflet, Motherwell, Bellshill, Uddingston, Rutherglen, Argyle Street and Glasgow Central..

2.2 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Motherwell (Hamilton Circle) via Blantyre calling at Partick, Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Airbles and Motherwell.

2.2.1 An additional service shall be provided arriving in Glasgow Central between 1800 and 1815 calling at Motherwell, Airbles, Hamilton Central, Hamilton West, Blantyre, Rutherglen, Argyle Street, Glasgow Central, Anderston, Exhibition Centre and Partick. This service shall originate at Coatbridge Central and also call at Whifflet.

2.2.2 Between 1755 and 1900 an interval of 60 minutes is allowed in arrivals at Glasgow Central. 2.2.3 In the evening peak two intervals of up to 47 minutes are allowed in departures from Glasgow Central.

2.2.4 The Early Service from Glasgow Central continues to Coatbridge Central.

2.2.5 The service arriving at Glasgow Central between 1915 and 1930 shall originate at Coatbridge Central calling at all stations specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7.

2.3 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Larkhall via Hamilton calling at Partick, Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Rutherglen, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Chatelherault, Merryton and Larkhall.

2.3.1 Two departures from Larkhall between 0715 and 0815 shall have additional calls. The first departure shall call additionally at Newton, Cambuslang, Dalmarnock and Bridgeton. The second departure shall terminate at Anderston and call additionally at Cambuslang and omit to call at Rutherglen.

2.3.2 Two departures from Larkhall between 1730 and 1815 shall have additional calls. The first departure shall call additionally at Newton, Cambuslang, Dalmarnock and Bridgeton. The second departure shall call additionally at Cambuslang, Dalmarnock and Bridgeton. 2.3.3 An interval of 42 minutes is allowed in departures from Larkhall between 1700 and 1800. 2.3.4 One arrival at Larkhall between 1725 and 1740 shall call additionally at Cambuslang. 2.3.5 An additional service is provided between 1700 and 1730 from Glasgow Central to Larkhall calling at Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Chatelherault and Merryton. 2.3.6 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Larkhall, departing no later than 2350 on Friday calling at Argyle Street, Rutherglen, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Chatelherault and Merryton. 2.4 Glasgow and Lanark. Two trains per hour including the Early and Late services shall be provided from 0905 until 1600 and from 1800 until 2200 from Glasgow Central Low Level, and 2230 from Lanark. One service each hour is via Shieldmuir calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.4. The other service each hour is via Holytown calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.7. 2.4.1 There may be an interval of 60 minutes before the last departure from Motherwell to Lanark. 2.4.2 Three additional departures shall be provided from Motherwell to Lanark between 0530 and 0700. The first and second departures call at Shieldmuir, Wishaw and Carluke. The third departure calls at Holytown, Wishaw and Carluke. 2.4.3 Four additional services shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Lanark via Bellshill from 0615 until 0900 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.3 and 1.4. 2.4.4 Between 1600 and 1800 three services shall be provided from Anderston to Lanark. The first and third of these services shall call at Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Rutherglen, Motherwell, Shieldmuir, Wishaw, Carluke and Lanark. The second of these services shall call at Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Uddingston, Motherwell, Shieldmuir, Wishaw, Carluke and Lanark. 2.4.5 There shall be five arrivals at Glasgow Central from Lanark before the Early Service.

The first arrival shall call at stations as specified in paragraph 1.3 The second arrival shall terminate at Anderston, calling at Carluke, Wishaw, Shieldmuir, Motherwell, Rutherglen, Argyle Street and Glasgow Central. The third and fifth arrival shall call at stations as specified in paragraph 1.4 and at Rutherglen, with an interval of 60 minutes. The fourth arrival shall call at stations as specified in paragraph 1.4 and additionally at Uddingston and Rutherglen, maintaining an interval of not more than 32 minutes between arrivals. 2.4.6 Three services shall arrive at Glasgow Central from Lanark between 1700 and 1830 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.3 and 1.4. 2.4.7 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Lanark, departing no earlier than 2340 on Friday calling at Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Uddingston, Bellshill, Motherwell, Shieldmuir, Wishaw and Carluke. 2.5 Coatbridge Central Line Services 2.5.1 Between 0600 and 0715 there shall be two services from Motherwell to Coatbridge Central calling at Whifflet. The interval between these trains shall not be less than 30 minutes. 2.5.2 There shall be two services arriving at Glasgow Central from Coatbridge Central via Hamilton between 0715 and 0830 calling at all Stations as specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7. 2.5.3 Between 1800 and 1930 there shall be three arrivals at Glasgow Central from Coatbridge Central, two via Hamilton and one via Bellshill. The first arrival via Hamilton shall call at Whifflet, Motherwell, Airbles, Hamilton Central, Hamilton West, Blantyre, Rutherglen, Arygle Street and Glasgow Central. The second service via Bellshill shall call at Whifflet, Motherwell, Bellshill, Uddingston, Rutherglen, Argyle Street and Glasgow Central. The third service via Hamilton shall call at Whifflet, Motherwell, Airbles, Hamilton Central, Hamilton West, Blantyre, Newton, Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Dalmarnock, Bridgeton, Argyle Street and Glasgow Central. . 2.5.4 A service shall be provided between Glasgow Central and Coatbridge Central departing after 2200 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7. 2.5.5 Between 1600 and 1730 there shall be three departures from Glasgow Central to Coatbridge Central via Hamilton with a maximum interval of 44 minutes. These services shall call at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7. 3 Service Pattern – Glasgow Central to Larkhall, Motherwell, Coatbridge Central and

3.2 A half hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Motherwell (Hamilton Circle) via Blantyre calling at Partick, Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Airbles and Motherwell. 3.3 A last train service shall be provided from Glasgow Central to Motherwell, departing no earlier than 0005 on Saturday calling at Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central and Airbles 3.4 A half hourly service, including Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Larkhall via Hamilton calling at Partick, Exhibition Centre, Anderston, Glasgow Central, Argyle Street, Rutherglen, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Chatelherault, Merryton and Larkhall.

3.5 Lanark. Two trains per hour including the Early and Late Services shall be extended to Lanark. One train each hour via Shieldmuir calling at all stations specified in paragraph 1.3 and 1.4 and, one train each hour via Holytown calling at all stations specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.6. There may be an interval of one hour after the first departure from Lanark and before the last departure from Motherwell to Lanark.

3.6 Two additional services calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.4 shall be provided between 0545 and 0715 from Motherwell to Lanark.

3.7 Coatbridge Central Line. One service shall be provided before 0630 between Motherwell and Coatbridge Central calling at Whifflet. 3.8 A service shall also be provided between Glasgow Central and Coatbridge Central departing after 2200 calling at stations specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7. 3.9 A service shall also be provided between Coatbridge Central and Glasgow Central departing between 0630 and 0700 calling at all stations as specified in paragraph 1.5 and 1.7.

4. Service Pattern – Glasgow Central to Motherwell and Lanark - Sundays 4.1 An hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Motherwell (Hamilton Circle) via Bellshill calling at all stations specified in paragraph 1.3.

4.2 An hourly service, including the Early and Late Services, shall be provided between Glasgow and Motherwell (Hamilton Circle) via Blantyre calling at all stations specified in paragraph 1.5.

Service 4. Glasgow Central to Gourock / Wemyss Bay 1. 1.4 Two of the services specified in paragraph 1.1. shall provide a half hourly interval service and shall call additionally at Cardonald, Hillington East, Hillington West, Paisley St James, Langbank, Woodhall, Bogston and Cartsdyke. Between 1615 and 1715 one interval of up to 45 minutes is permitted on departures from Glasgow Central High Level. After 1745 there may be one interval of up to 45 minutes in arrivals at Glasgow Central from Gourock.

The early service need not call at Paisley St James, Langbank and Fort Matilda.

4. Service Pattern - Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay - Monday to Friday 4.1 Between the Early Service and 1930, an hourly service, including the Early Service, shall be provided between Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay, calling at Paisley Gilmour Street, Bishopton, Port Glasgow, Whinhill, Drumfrochar, Branchton, IBM and Inverkip. There may be one interval of up to one hour twenty minutes before 0800. One service departing Glasgow Central between 1600 and 1700 need not call at IBM.

4.2 The service departing between 0615 and 0645 shall also call at Cardonald.

4.3 During the Evening Peak Period there shall be three departures from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay.

4.4 After 1930 the services specified in paragraph 4.1 shall call additionally at Cardonald, Hillington East, Hillington West, Paisley St James, Langbank and Woodhall to provide a 30 minute interval service at those stations with services to Gourock. One interval of 45 minutes may be permitted after 2230.

4.5 Between 0545 and 0800 there shall be three departures from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay, with a provision to make stops as specified in paragraph 1.7 (1.7.1-1.7.6) in conjunction with the Gourock services mentioned in that paragraph.

4.6 During the Morning Peak Period there shall be two arrivals at Glasgow Central from Wemyss Bay, with a provision to make stops as specified in paragraph 1.11(1.11.1-1.11.7) in conjunction with the Gourock services mentioned in that paragraph.

4.7 Between 1815 and 1845 one additional service shall be provided from Wemyss Bay to Glasgow Central calling at all stations in paragraph 4.1.

9. Pre Christmas Sunday Services

These services shall call at all stations in conjunction with Sunday services defined in paragraphs 3 and 6.

10. Connectional requirements 10.1 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to provide connecting services at Gourock with

ferry sailings to and from Dunoon and to and from Kilcreggan.

10.2 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to provide connecting services at Wemyss Bay with ferry sailings to and from Rothesay. If necessary departures from Wemyss Bay may be timed up to 6 minutes later to facilitate such connections.

Service 5. Glasgow Central – Cathcart Circle, Neilston and Newton. 1. Service Pattern – Glasgow to Neilston - Monday to Friday 1.1 Between the Early and Late Service, two services per hour shall be provided between Glasgow and Neilston, calling at Pollokshields East, Queens Park, Crosshill, Mount Florida, Cathcart, Muirend, Williamwood, Whitecraigs and Patterton. 1.2 Including the Early Service and the start of the morning peak, there shall be five departures from Glasgow and two arrivals at Glasgow, calling at the stations specified in paragraph 1.1.

This service shall have a Maximum Journey Time of 25 minutes. 2. 1.16 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to maintain connections at Thurso with road

services to Scrabster and ferries to and from Orkney.

1.17 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to provide connections at Inverness between the last service to Kyle of Lochalsh and services from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. The waiting period shall not exceed 60 minutes.

2 Service Pattern - Sundays 2.1 One service shall be provided between Wick and Inverness departing Wick between

1545 and 1615 and Inverness between 1745 and 1815 calling at Beauly, Muir of Ord, Dingwall, Alness, Invergordon, Fearn, Tain, Ardgay, Culrain, Invershin, Lairg, Rogart, Golspie, Brora, Helmsdale, Kildonan, Kinbrace, Forsinard, Altnabreac, Scotscalder, Georgemas Junction and Thurso.

2.2 The service listed in 2.1 from Wick shall call additionally at Dunrobin Castle. This service

may omit to call when the Castle is closed. 2.3 One service shall be provided between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh departing

Inverness between 1100 and 1130, returning between 1500 and 1530 calling at Beauly, Muir of Ord, Dingwall, Garve, Lochluichart, Achanalt, Achnasheen, Achnashellach, Strathcarron, Attadale, Stromeferry, Duncraig, Plockton and Duirinish.

2.4 An additional Summer service shall be provided between Kyle of Lochalsh and

Inverness departing Kyle between 1030 and 1100 and departing Inverness between 1100 and 1130 calling at the stations specified in 2.3.

2.5 Three services shall be provided from Inverness to Tain, one departing Inverness

between 0945 and 1015, one between 1215 and 1245 and one between 2100 and 2130, calling at Beauly, Muir of Ord, Dingwall, Alness, Invergordon and Fearn.

2.6 One service shall be provided between Inverness and Invergordon departing Inverness

between 1515 and 1545, returning between 1600 and 1630, calling at Beauly, Muir of Ord, Dingwall and Alness.

2.7 Three services shall be provided from Tain to Inverness, one arriving in Inverness

between 1200 and 1230, one between 1500 and 1530 and one between 2315 and 2345 calling at Fearn, Invergordon, Alness, Dingwall, Muir of Ord and Beauly.

2.8 Reasonable endeavours shall be made to provide connections at Thurso with road

services to Scrabster and ferries to and from Orkney.
