Kurran Singh The purpose of this project is to create a database that contains the results of all Intercollegiate Sailing Association championships for the past 40 years. This includes various trophies that are awarded to different classes of sailboat to schools and individual sailors, as well as the overall Fowle Trophy winner each year. The data will include the name of the trophy, the year, the winning team, the winning sailors, a description of what the trophy is for, the gender (male female or Coed) and the venue (project may expand to include more details such as coach name, school year of sailors etc.) This data is all currently available on the ICSA website in various formats. The project will use SQL, using the Mysql Workbench for development. The project will also implement a Python front- end command line UI. There are no machine restrictions for the project. The project will also involve using the Java code from TechScore, the open source application that is used in college sailing to report scores. The project interests me as a college sailor who invests at least 30 hours a week into practices and regattas, not including travel and weekends spent away, making sailing an important part of my life. The large time commitment and extensive time spent outside of Boston is also the reason I am completing this project on my own, as my schedule is not conducive to meeting and working with other people in the class. I also have an appreciation for the importance of maintaining historical records in the close-knit sailing community.

The purpose of this project is to create a database that contains the results of all Intercollegiate Sailing Association championships for the past 40 years.

The project will also implement a Python front-end command line UI. There are no machine restrictions for the project. The project will also involve using the Java code from TechScore, the open source application that is used in college sailing to report scores.
