Components of BackOffice Associates

CranPort is an import/export utility that allows you to create and execute packages that transfer data from an external source into a CranSoft database and vice versa. This tool is for moving data. CranPort packages can be created and executed on any version of Microsoft SQL Server. It supports the import and export of data to and from SQL Server, ODBC databases, fixed width and delimited text files, and Excel spreadsheets.

DataGarage is a purpose-built tool used for maintaining a unified collection of data from multiple, disparate systems, and is part of the Data Migration Toolset and the Collaborative Applications Toolset .DataGarage can connect to a variety of different data sources to extract and collect the data into a single, unifying database. It provides access to data that resides in multiple systems without the user having to connect to the actual systems. DataGarage can be configured to extract the data at scheduled intervals, and at an individual table level. In this way, the data can be kept in sync based on the processing schedule of each data source.

CranPort Packages To Import Flat Files

To create a CranPort package:

Click Packages on the Switchboard.

Click Add button on the Toolbar.

Click Save.

Click the Source button.

Enter C:\DSW\Source\MMXX\ttLFA1\ORACLE_VENDOR.xls in Source File Path field.

Click Target button.

Enter stLFA1_Oracle in Target Table field as the new DSW Source table name. This is the destination of the data.

Click Mappings button to view the created mappings.

Click Run button to execute the package

Click Refresh button on the Toolbar to display Count results.

Creation of insert view for Insert Rule for Source Data

Open Management Studio.

Login using SQL Server Authentication.

Locate dswotmproduction database.

Right-click Views.

Select New View.

Locate stLFA1_BPCS table.

Click Add button.

Click Close button

Select only those fields required from the mapping table

Enter ‘BPCS’ in Column

Enter zSource in Alias

Save the view as srLFA1_BPCSInsSel.

Registration and Execution of the Insert Rule in DSW

To register the insert rule to the BPCS source:

Click Teams on Switchboard.

Locate Team.

Click Targets button for the Team.

Locate Target ttLFA1.

Click Sources button.

Locate Source stLFA1_BPCS.

Click Rules

Select srLFA1_BPCSInsSel from Source Rule View list box.

Refreshing of Cransoft tables in DataGarage

Click on the Sources Button and give Oracle table Database details

Click Tables Button and add Table details.

Click Refresh Button for table refresh.
