State Assessment Results
• Measures student performance based on Kansas College and Career Ready standards
• The charts show the actual number of students that scored in each category
• KSDE has not released the actual number of students in each category statewide, only percentages
• Our scores last year were a good baseline considering it is such a new test• However, our primary goal should be to reduce the number of students not
passing the assessment• A long-term goal should be to increase the percentage of students scoring
in the college and career ready categories
State Assessment Results
• Blue = Level 4, above grade level and on track for college & career readiness
• Green = Level 3, at grade level and on track for college & career readiness
• Yellow = Level 2, at grade level• Red = Level 1, did not meet grade level expectation

Elementary Curriculum Benchmarks
• Measure student performance based on the district’s curriculum• Used to identify gaps in the curriculum• The overall trend is that a higher percentage of students passed the
curriculum benchmarks this year compared to last school year• It is important that we continue improving because not all grade
levels and subject areas are where we want them to be
Elementary Curriculum Benchmarks
• Green = Exceeds Standard (80% and above)• Yellow = Meets Standard (60% - 79%)• Red = Did Not Meet Standard (59% and below)

Elementary AIMSweb Assessment
• Measure student growth over time• Compare Leavenworth students with students nationwide• Compliment the intervention and academic improvement process• We have many more students demonstrating high rates of growth this
year compared to last year• If this trend continues, we should expect to see improvements in
state assessment and curriculum benchmark results in the future• However, it is important to know AIMSweb assesses foundational
skills rather than deeper understanding
Elementary AIMSweb Assessment
• SGP = Student Growth Percentile• Red = Low rate of growth, 1st- 30th percentile• Yellow = Average rate of growth, 30th-70th percentile• Green = High rate of growth, 70th-99th percentile• Students who are behind their peers academically will eventually
catch up if they consistently demonstrate a high rate of growth• Reading Measures- Letter Naming Fluency, Nonsense Word Fluency,

ACT Aspire Results- Secondary
• Similar to state assessments, ACT Aspire measures student performance based on college & career readiness standards
• Also has the potential to measure student growth over time and to predict how students will perform on the ACT
• Graphs show the percentage of students that are on track for ACT readiness (based on preliminary guidelines)
• Except in English, less than half of our students are showing that they are on track for ACT Readiness
• The test is very difficult so we need to increase our opportunities for our students to learn and engage with a rigorous curriculum

Secondary Statistics• We look at advanced course enrollment to ensure more students are
accessing a rigorous curriculum• We look at the number of students with failing grades because it can be a
significant red flag for dropping out in the future• We look at GPA distributions to see how well students are learning our
district curriculum, similar to elementary curriculum benchmarks• Low GPA is also a red flag for dropping out in the future• We look at attendance rates because students can only learn rigorous
material if they are regularly at school• One of our most significant positive trends is that our graduation rate
continues to rise and is at about 90% right now
