Discussion session• Generally accepted data format seems to be elusive, but

technology is now mature to circumvent this• Metadata are crucial; some data providers need guidance

on standards and implementation• COST 0803: SG 1.4, SG 2.1

– Review of data and application services (operational and planned), with emphasis on IT technologies

– Review of state of the art IT technologies for data and application servers, to produce documentation; lack of awareness is an issue

– Use COST to set up collaborative effort between data and service providers, users and IT specialists.

– Use COST 0803 web site as focal point, with email distribution list, to collect and distribute information

– Liaise with other communities (VO, ...)
