Job Description
• Understand data analysis activities for the Company’s custom applications. Provide data usage scope analysis, data profile analysis, data quality & cleansing assessment, test data and scenario assistance.
• Data mining complex Excel including pivot tables and v lookups. • Must be able to pull information out of an internal system and manipulate the data in Excel. Will be working in Excel about 90% of the
time. • The BA will perform complex data analysis tasks which may include data mapping, business process analysis, and compliance analysis. • Provide guidance in the assessment of existing systems. Ensure adherence to data management standards and practices. Develop best
practices, standards of excellence, and guidelines to enforce and guide behavior. • Provide interaction with development and end-user personnel to determine data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis,
and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated databases and reports. • Manage relationships between database end-users and department resources. Communicate data administration concepts to
management. • Work with various departments to satisfy reporting requirements, including: working with various groups to determine the exact nature of
the reporting required; determine if the required data is currently being collected; determine if reports already developed will satisfy reporting requirements; use currently available reporting tools to develop, verify and deploy new reporting.
• Extract, summarize and compile data for required external reporting • Use Microsoft Office tools to assist in compiling data for reporting and producing reports for distribution.
Education /Experience
• Bachelor or Associate’s degree in computer science or related field or two years of college, plus at least two years of direct, on-the job experience working with relational database management system, such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in database design, programming, and implementation using SQL or other tools • Previous experience as a data analyst is preferred but not required. • Experience in retail power is preferred but not required. • Experience working in a complex data environment • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills • The ideal business data analyst will have demonstrated the ability to understand business processes and how data and systems support
the business processes • The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of documenting process flows on how data moves through a system
